President Bush ended his visit to Northern Ireland today as he met one last time with British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern. The war in Iraq was still the focus of their meeting, particularly the question of whether or not Saddam Hussein is still alive after coalition forces used four bunker buster bombs on a restaurant where Hussein was alleged to be. Discussions also took place regarding post war Iraq and the evolving Mideast peace plan. President Bush returned to the White House late this afternoon. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

You are right! That *should* have been the QotD. I missed the speech so I had to read the transcript quickly.

I heard one of the embedded reporters today (maybe Rick Levanthal?) say that he'd been in the desert for over a month and hadn't seen any flowers until the children of Iraq started presenting them to the American soldiers. Such a simple gift and yet one could read so much symbolism into them ...... just as the desert has been so drab and the flowers bring color and life into the soldiers lives, the plight of the Iraqi people has been so hopeless and horrible but now the Americans (and other coalition troops) bring them hope and a promise of new life and freedom.

This is the photo that accompanies his words about "strangling the Iraqi people"... and "I don't know how many fingers are off the throats of the Iraqi people" that resonate with me and bother the bejeebers out of the coastal elites. The word "evil-doers" still tees them off.

" "I don't know how many fingers are off the throats of the Iraqi people" that resonate with me and bother the bejeebers out of the coastal elites "
That was such a powerful and memorable statement- I loved the words and the image. Probably too testosterone laced for the elites.

rintense, thank you - GREAT pix! Our President is looking a lot more sprightly than he was a couple of weeks ago. He knows he is on the side of goodness and right for the Iraqi people. Thanks to him and our brave military people, we are liberating these people who have been so hideously abused and oppressed.
