"Children in Kindergarten to attend for homosexual and transsexual tolerance classes."

Can you show where that's required?

The bill reads:

"Beginning in school year 2004-2005, the character-development program shall be required in kindergarten through grade 12. Each district school board shall develop or adopt a curriculum for the character-development program that shall be submitted to the department for approval. The character-development curriculum shall stress the qualities of patriotism, responsibility, citizenship, kindness, respect, honesty, self-control, tolerance, and cooperation. The curriculum shall also stress state policies and laws against harassment of and discrimination and violence against students in schools on the basis of real or perceived identity or expression of race, color, religion, national origin, marital status, sex or gender, disability, or sexual orientation."

I assumed that must be a typo on the date, since I just got the email today, I will do a little research and find out if they voted already.

It will ban Christian students from sharing their faith in Christ to homosexual students.

How about if we start stressing that teachers and students are taught tolerance towards Christians and their beliefs first? Then, after that is instituted, we should stress tolerance for immoral conduct.

Here is what I found:

02/21/03 SENATE Prefiled
03/04/03 SENATE Introduced, referred to Education; Judiciary; Appropriations
-SJ 00080 03/31/03 SENATE On Committee agenda-- Education, 04/03/03, 9:00 am, 412-K
--Temporarily postponed
04/04/03 SENATE On Committee agenda-- Education, 04/09/03, 1:45 pm, 412-K

I guess they will vote again tomorrow, unless it gets postponed again. It's still kind of a late notice, but I just found out today.

No offense...but I didn't read any of the above in the bill.

Did I miss something?

Hmm… Thanks. I don't like it, but I'm sure that in 99.9% of the cases, it wouldn't have kindergartners learning about homosexuals. I think that's just a poorly written paragraph (typical of the poorly educated people promoting this PC state socialization crap.)

         PRO-HOMOSEXUAL BILL IN FLORIDA LEGISLATURE
         WOULD CRIPPLE RIGHTS OF CHRISTIANS!

         * * IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED (SEE BELOW)**

         * * FORWARD TO FRIENDS IN FLORIDA**

Dear Jonathan,

We are alerting each FL member of our team about a very
dangerous bill in the Florida legislature that could cripple the
rights of anyone who does not support homosexuality.

Called the "Dignity For All Students Act" (Senate Bill 1498), it is
scheduled for vote in the Florida Senate Judiciary Committee this
week.

If it passes, Senate Bill 1498 could:

**BAN Christian students from sharing their faith on Florida
                 public school campuses.

**REQUIRE Florida school teachers and administrators to take
                 homosexual "sensitivity training"

**FORCE our Florida schoolchildren, even kindergarteners, to
                 attend so-called "tolerance" classes!

This bill is little more than a front for the advancement of the pro-
homosexual agenda and it will stifle our free-speech rights in
Florida schools! (For more details on the bill, see the link at the
end of this message.)

Jonathan, the vote in the Senate committee is scheduled
for this Wednesday, April 9, at 1:45 p.m., which leaves us little
time to respond.

Is the National Education Association behind this bill? Members of the legislature normally don't up and write bills or resolutions. Usually a special interest group writes for the senator or representative for proposal. So who's behind this ridculous, absurd piece of legislation? First to kill this legislation and the next target or make the general people aware of who's really writing these special interest bills. This is an outrage.

Yea, and I think your brainwashed by people exploiting your tendency toward paranoia. That thing will never happen. Time will prove which one of us is right.

MA now has a similar law and it has been a nighmare.....workshops teaching kids how to engage in homosexual activities...all under the guise of teaching tolerance.

Getting these things taught to kids is part of the homosexual agenda being puhsed by the NEA.

I heard a prediction 30 years ago that the southern half of Florida would end up under the sea.

They sure seem to have a death wish toward that end.

Here is a web site that has some information about the mess in MA now: http://www.massnews.com/past_issues/other/tapes2.htm

Its the NEA and the GLSEN that are pushing this in MA, I wonder if it's the same groups here in FL.

Thank you for your work in seeing this through. I had contacted all I could in Sarasota county, and had them email Lisa Carlton, which surprisingly, Lisa responded to my letter. She must have applied some of her influence on those who counted.
