NEAR BAGHDAD, April 7 (AFP) - US Marines in Iraq have discovered bomb-making facilities at a facility described as a training camp operated by the a faction of the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF), a military spokesman said Monday.
Bomb-making facilities, chemicals, mortars, gas masks and AK-47s were found inside the 20-building complex to the east of Baghdad, said Public Affairs Officer Corporal John Hoellwarth.
The complex, which was the size of a battalion headquarters, featured pictures of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, PLF faction leader Abu Abbas and the PLF's flag, Hoellwarth added.
Other photos included pictures of Abu Abbas posing with a brigadier general from Saddam's Republican Guard inside the camp.
Boxes of documents with PLF letterheads were also seized.
Stores of fresh food including fresh tomatos and potatos were seen, indicating that the complex had recently been vacated.
Followers of Abu Abbas carried the deadly attack in 1985 on the cruise ship Achille Lauro, but renounced terrorism after the 1993 Oslo peace accords between Israel and Palestinians.
Abbas had been based in Tunisia but was more recently thought to be based in Baghdad.

Remember the Achille Lauro?
The Palistinian Liberation Front terror group has this training facility near Baghdad.
Read article.
See connection.
Be enlightened for once.

This is getting off subject, for that I apologize and if the administrator wants to delete, feel free. But, I was going to add a comment about Mr. Klinghoffer, because I recalled reading that he was a decarated War veteran and that possibly had more to do with his killing, then the fact that he was also Jewish.(quick search did not confirm his status regarding military service.
But i did come across this and to be honest I am a bit flabbergasted:
About The Death of Klinghoffer
The Death of Klinghoffer, John Adams' second opera, takes as its subject the hijacking of the cruise ship Achille Lauro in 1985. Again the concept for the opera was suggested by director Peter Sellars. The L.A. Opera shared the work's commission but never presented it.
Cast of Characters
The Captain, bar
First Officer/"Rambo", b-bar
Swiss Grandmother/Austrian Woman/British Dancing Girl, ms Molqui, t Mamoud, bar
Leon Klinghoffer, bar
Omar, ms
Marilyn Klinghoffer, c
Choruses of Exiled Palestinians and Exiled Jews, etc.
Synopsis
The Death of Klinghoffer is told in a very different style than Adams' previous opera, "Nixon in China". While based on historical events, Klinghoffer does not always treat them in a traditionally narrative....
I am, frankly stunned. I mean on the surface this sounds like a "Springtime for Hitler"` style 'bad taste' award nominee.
You never know what you find in these search engines. I simply searched under "Leon Klinghoffer" and got that garbage.

Soon after the strike on Saddam's bunker, there was a report (Palestinian source) that Abbas was in the bunker and was killed. The Rapist let Abbas attend a speech of his in Lebanon (IIRC) as a V.I.P., and George "Dubya" Bush kill't him.
Pretty much says it all right there. Thank You, Dubya!

Another modernist knocking the classics of Western civilization.
Me-thinks there are a few people (not you, MSF) who are too touchy on this thread. A few FReepers must have missed their naps and are a little cranky.

This should come as no surprise to anyone.
Abu Abbas died in Baghdad "under suspicious circumstances" just last year.

Hmmm, Axis of Evil was bogus they said. It was just too much drama they said. It was a fallacy created by the paranoid right wingers they said. FYI, they=DNC.

Of what possible relevance is this to our quest for Iraqi oil and Jewish supremacy?

To: OldFriend
Nope, heard it from a Conservative Jewish friend of mine.
Like I said, it was a grim joke. Remember that at that time there was a strong faction in America -- even among American Jews -- that really, really wanted to make peace, any sort of peace, with the P.L.O. They were willing to bargain away Israel's security for peace at any price. That thinking eventually led to Oslo. At the time, many of the peace advocates were not angry -- they were "disappointed" . . . that the radicals couldn't "restrain themselves" long enough to get a peace agreement.
Hence the bitter humor from my Jewish friend. He thought that the peace-at-any-price crowd were almost as willing to push Leon overboard as the P.L.O.
