GOTTA SEE THIS - War for Enduring Freedom 4/8/03 - Presidential Thunder Run, Baghdad
BREAKING: Presidential palace - Thunder Run
BREAKING: Baghdad - Sahaf press conference interrupted
BREAKING: South Baghdad - Behind Enemy Lines
========= Baghdad =========
At the presidential palace. Incoming.
=========== Behind Enemy Lines ===========
At the presidential palace, as US troops advance,
Iraqi soldiers run. Those black figures in the foreground running.along the Tigris River
under supressive fire from coalition tanks are not ants, but terrorists. Local shock and awe.
Terrorist controlled Baghdad..
=========== Presidential Thunder Run ===========
Entering the presidential palace, US forces take a prize from the terrorists.
Later, at the presidential palace.
In Baghdad, at the international --Coalition controlled-- airport.
=========== Behind Enemy Lines ===========
GEEZER ALERT
Utterly insane in Baghdad
Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al Sahaf calls a conference.
The terrorist geezers in control explain to the docile press [at the Palestinian hotel]
that the US is losing. However, this particular piece of BS PR is interrupted by Coalition forces
knocking on the terrorists' door. Duck and cover, Mr. Terrorist.
========= South Baghdad Near Battle lines=========
=========== Behind Enemy Lines ===========
One US tank was taken by what the Iraqis boast is Russian technology.
Much soon-to-be-ephemeral hubris in these terrorists. So much for trusting Putin.
NOTA BENE: COALITION ALERT
Fleeing terrorists dressed in civilian clothes like in Southern Iraq
========= Baghdad =========
Outside Baghdad, securing the key bridge into Baghdad.
Please spend a few hours today helping for success in the War for Enduring Freedom,
or/and post your thought, missive, picture, thread, analysis, greetings to those serving overseas,
venting, update, correction, observation, or anything else of interest.

Thank you for faithfully bringing this collection to us.
Somehow, stills capture what is going on in a way that video cannot.

This picture is for all the books. The colors, the men, everything is right about this picture even where they are. The best of the best!
'First time the Palace has felt peace!'
All of the pictures have been great!

"Saddam's bedroom...hmmm...boxers or briefs
Ugh!!! Bad visual! Would really rather not go there... "
How about a glimpse of his medicine cabinet. Just curiosity. Any Preparation H?

Yours @12 - my first thought, exactly.
Thanks for posting the Berchtesgaden photo - I had not seen it before.
Our guys in Baghdad look like they've put in a full day's work and then some.

A U.S. Marine from Lima Company, a part of the 7th Marine Regiment, keeps two members of the Iraqi Republican guard, dressed in civilian clothes, on the ground on the New Baghdad highway bridge in the suburbs of the Iraqi capital Baghdad on April 7, 2003. No --- I DEARLY wish I had seen it! I've been up till 1 or 2 AM all week, but last night I had to be in bed early -- so missed it. (I'm a Grandma again, as of 8AM. Matthew James 9 pounds of perfection)
I will look forward to the rerun, and I can imagine the joy those guys had going thru those digs.
That disinformation minister has a problem. HeeHee. As Brit Hume says, he is real Sat.Night Live material!
Since I missed the grand march into the palaces, I hope at least I can witness tanks going around that rotary we always see on the web-cam.

I'm a Grandma again, as of 8AM. Matthew James 9 pounds of perfection CONGRATULATIONS!!! :-)
Our best wishes to Matthew James, his parents and to the grandparents, of course!
Since this video is so "historic", I'm sure it'll be run over and over again. Sean Hannity said he will be running some of it tonight on H&C.

Jump in the river rather than be "martyrs"??? I thought the Iraqis were all going to fight to the death. :) Oh you silly goose. That's where they hide their tanks! They're bravely diving down there to get them. Not to mention, of course, their fighter planes. Uh huh.

What a great Freeper you are to deliver this plethora!

Makes me wonder if one of Saddam's bunkers is under the river!
