I like this one too:
The Battle Cry of Freedom by George Frederick Root, 1862
Yes, we'll rally 'round the flag, boys we'll rally once again, Shouting the battle cry of Freedom; We will rally from the hillside, we'll gather from the plain, Shouting the battle cry of Freedom. Chorus "Our Country" forever ~ Hurrah! boys, Hurrah! Bright in its glory shines ev'ry star, While we rally 'round the flag, boys, rally once again, Shouting the battle cry of Freedom. We are springing to the call of our Brothers gone before, Shouting the battle cry of Freedom; And we'll fill the vacant ranks with a million patriots more; Shouting the battle cry of Freedom. Oh! then rally 'round the flag, boys, wherever it may wave, Shouting the battle cry of Freedom; And we'll fill the vacant ranks with a million patriots more; Shouting the battle cry of Freedom.

Else no doubt EU will be rotten by the islamic demography : 50 million already, double that every 20 years and conclude what the threat may become for the USA on long term. European patriots must react NOW and try to find common causes. Realism shows that either we abandon the free trade EU, either we have a coherent strategy to protect our borders and main interests world wide ... side to side with the closest block we know, the USA.You're a good soul, Karl. There is hope for France if there are many more like you.

al-Sahaf Telly Savalas (Kojak) Are they by any chance related?
No, but by this evening, they may have something significant in common.

Meanwhile, with Turkey having missed the boat, the Turkish Lira exchange rate has slipped to 1,666,666 Turkish lira to the US Dollar. For reference, I exchanged 8,068 Turkish lira to the dollar on my NATO trip in November 1992. A year later, I was scheduled to go again and the rate was around 12,000 Turkish lira to the US dollar. That trip was called off. Turkish currency has really taken a fall in 10 years.

Can anyone confirm this story about a Baghdad uprising? I can't see anything on the BBC or FoxNews websites.

Think of this country. Suppose our President gave permission for the likes of the Black Panthers or our street gangs to do anything they like on the "infidel" populace? Mayor David Dinkins of NYC effectively did that during the Crown Heights Riots a few years back
A future Hillery Clinton administration could conceivably decide to do that at some point in the future. Remember: the "thug class" HAS to be recruited from a group of people who enjoy violence and have no affinity for the middle-class people that they will be called upon to "keep in line"

France has been invaded by 6 million muslims. They have recently surrendered by establishing a "Muslim council" to give the muslims even more political power. The muslims have captured control of France and its government without firing a shot. The French don't have the balls to stand and fight against the muslim invasion.

If he was not involved in war crimes, Baghdad Bob could eventually get a slot on the Comedy Channel or guest hosting Saturday Night Live. (Who was the U.S. official who said yesterday that this guy's news conference are like an SNL parody?) An instant classic would be Chevy Chase coming back to do his "Franco" skit, this time saying "Sadaam is still dead", and "Baghdad Bob" coming on in rebuttal, saying "It was only a flesh wound! Sadaam says for the Americans to come back so he can bite their legs off"

Scores of Iraq-based Iranian rebels have defected and returned to Iran over recent monthsTranslation: Iran recalled some of its operatives from Iraq for fear of reprisal by the U.S. -- or that's what they want the U.S. to think.

I thought the words of the chorus were: "The Union forever! Hurrah, boys, hurrah! Down with the traitor! Up with the star!" Were they changed at some point?
To: aristeides
Don't know, I just copied it from the net somewhere.

It looks like the citizens of Iraq are giving Saddam's thugs a Ba-ath - a blood Ba-ath that is.
I hope they find Benedict Arnett and give him some ME street justice for his complicity in supporting their tormentors.

The recently published fact that one out of every three French
people wish for us to lose the war and thousands of American lives will make a comeback in friendship pretty tough.
And I'm not making the "Government vs The People" mistake in distinction here. It's "the people", not Chirac, that I'm talking about

I was in Instanbul in the middle 50s, and the exchange rate then was such that the U.S. Dollar was like ... gold.
One critical economic combination that is absent in such countries is individual freedom in the context of an individual's right to own real property, to use that property for one's own benefit, and the presence of a justice system that guarantee's those property rights.
