Third Rally for America in the New Orleans Area

Just arrived home from our third successful “Rally for America” in three weeks in the New Orleans area. A large crowd of patriots participated with us in a very rewarding, patriotic experience, which included prayers for our troops, flag-waving, and horn-honking of supporters, as they drove past our group. And believe me, the honking was LOUD! Here are a few photos which I took (I did a terrible job, unfortunately).

We were also joined by our favorite State Representative, Steve Scalise, popular WTIX radio talk show host Jeff Crouere, and WWL radio’s “Queen of Talk,” Andre Trevigne. The owner of Goody’s Café even stopped by with donuts for everyone.

Patriot1 and I have been organizing “informal” rallies each Sunday, following our big “formal” rally on March 21st, which featured such important speakers as Congressional Medal of Honor Winner Gen. James Livingston, Congressman David Vitter, State Senator Ken Hollis, and State Rep. Steve Scalise, and top notch entertainment, including Vince Vance (of Vince Vance and the Valiants).

The purpose of our informal rallies is to give all of us an opportunity to continue to be visible in support of our troops with prayers, patriotic signs, patriotic music, etc. We want our troops to know how much we appreciate the sacrifices that they are making for us and our great country. We are eternally grateful that these brave young Americans are putting their lives on the line for us—they are our heroes.

We are planning these rallies every Sunday (except Easter), until our troops start coming home, when we have achieved victory in Iraq. The location for each of these rallies will be the Korean Monument Park on the neutral ground across from Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie, LA.

Blam, I will never forget how the Gulf Coast Chapter of FreeRepublic did such an outstanding job in protesting Clinton and his $100,000 speech at the Oracle Appsworld Convention in New Orleans on Feb. 19, 2001. Remember how we not only were convered by every local TV station, but we had national and international TV coverage. That was truly a blast! I'd be willing to head the group if no one else will do it. We need a cohesive group that we can call on when we have an issue that needs to be addressed by FReepers.

I'm at work today listening to 870 AM, WWL Radio. There was an interview with a Marine and his mother from Bay St. Louis.

IT WAS MY COUSIN AND AUNT! WoooHooooo

Haven't heard from him in a long time. He was ready to retire from the Marines last October, but was held over for a little while longer.

So happy to hear that he is doing good in Baghdad. I pray that they all come back home safe.

Godspeed!

You have to be proud that your cousin is part of the outstanding group of service men and women serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Our prayers are with these brave troops who are doing such an outstanding job.

Did you see the Fox Channel 8 TV coverage of this Sunday's rally? With regard to our rally on the previous Sunday, Fox gave in depth coverage, 3 to 5 minutes with individual interviews and footage of patriotic attendees as well as coverage of the honking of horns in response to our signs. The other TV stations gave brief coverage of the rally, with no interviews.

Having two radio talk show hosts at this rally was super! Jeff Crouere of WTIX and Andre Trevigne of WWL were wonderful additions to our attendees.

We have another rally planned for next Sunday, April 13th. I'll be back from Michigan for that rally. Please join us for this uplifting event and for the fun.

Excellent. You're the new Chapter Executive of the Gulf Coast Chapter.

Chemicalman, I wasn't listening to WWL when the interview took place, but I heard about it. I'll bet you were some excited when you heard them. You must be very proud to have a cousin who is such a patriot and is willing to put his life on the line for us and our great country. I pray that your cousin comes home safely. Thank God for Americans like him.
