IraqiAmericans.com (FR mentioned)
FoxNews to IraqiAmericans.com ^ | April 5, 2003 | Aziz Al-Taee

Aziz Al-Taee, chairman of the Iraqi-American Council, was just on FoxNews, talking about supporting the US coalition efforts to remove Saddam. Their website address was shoown on the screen, so I went there.

"The Iraqi American Council is a non-sectarian, non-ethnic, non-government organization working to promote democracy and human rights in Iraq, to empower Iraqi-Americans to participate in mainstream American life and to preserve their cultural heritage."

Clicking on the link of their home page: "Why Saddam? Why Now", ( http://www.iraqiamericans.com/pr/2003/pat-rall-4-amer.asp ) took me to a page, where to my surprise a FR rally was mentioned. The rally was about a month ago, but maybe not all of you know that it's on their webpage.

"WHY Saddam? Why Now? C-SPAN “Patriots Rally for America”—D.C. Chapter of Free Republic

Aziz Al-Taee, chairman of the Iraqi-American Council, was the featured speaker at the “Patriots Rally for America” held March 1, 2003, at the National Mall, Washington, D.C., by the Washington, D.C., chapter of Free Republic. The Free Republic moderator Connie Hair introduced Al-Taee with a brief biographical sketch. Al-Taee fled the persecution of the Saddam Hussein regime after many of his family and friends were brutally tortured and killed. After a brief stay in England, he was granted political asylum in the U.S. He is a founding member of the IUIS, an Iraqi students’ union. The IUIS evolved into the Iraqi American Council (IAC) in 1998."

He urged those interested to check the Iraqi-American Council web site, http://www.iraqiamericans.org, under “human rights” to view 30,000 documents obtained from Saddam’s security offices and intelligence services ordering countless executions. Declaring that “Saddam is the Weapon of Mass Destruction,” Al-Taee directed rally participants to view the pictures of victims of the Halabja chemical attacks. He called for Saddam to be brought to justice on behalf of the victims of Halabja to answer for his crimes against humanity.

This fellow was on FOX just a few minutes ago. He stated that the average Iraqi citizen wants NOTHING to do with France, Germany, or Russia since they perpetuated the holocaust against the Iraqi people. He stated that Wahhabism is a hijacking of Islam and that Islam would be retaken from the Wahabbis the same way Iraq will be retaken from Baath.

He sounds like someone we all should be supporting.

a pragmatic fellow, he says that there is no reason for the arabs to sacrifice twenty eight million iraqis because they disagree with americas policy in palestine.

Good recent book on Wahabbism:
"Hatred's Kingdom"
by Dore Gold

Reveals that Osama bin Laden was a student of two of the big wheels of Wahabbism, while he
lived in Saudi Arabia.
Osama was the apt student who absorbed their gospel...and the rest is history.
(and hopefully Osama and his fellow travelers are too)

Useful idiots exploited by those with a complete hatred of President Bush and America.

I have no qualms at all of calling these people unpatriotic and disloyal americans.

He stated that the average Iraqi citizen wants NOTHING to do with France, Germany, or Russia since they perpetuated the holocaust against the Iraqi people.

That was pretty heartening, wasn't it?

He stated that Wahhabism is a hijacking of Islam ...

That was a little less convincing, he said Wahhabism hijacked Islam 1400 years ago. Well, that's when Islam began, isn't it? Wahhabism didn't hijack that plane, it built it.

But yes, this guy sounds like someone worth supporting. Hope he doesn't turn on us 20 years from now like a couple other Arabs I could mention.

Oh my God! The photos contained at that site are just like the ones described in the news today --- where the Brits found all the open wooden boxes and bags of bones and documentation of death. Is this not "shock and awe" enough for those who complain that the coalition went to war without U.N. approval? If Saddam Hussein had agreed to disarmament this would have continued to happen!

Did you surf that site? Did you notice under Photos, the bottom navigation link to "Neighbouring Countries"? What countries are those pics of?

Yes, I viewed quite a bit, including portions of the films as well as photos of the "Neighbouring Countries." I have no idea what countries those pictures portray. Perhaps some are from Iran?

I went to another site where it has information about Halabja (Bloody Friday) when the Iraqis used chemical weapons to slaughter the Kurds. A couple of quotes:

"... There is evidence that the Iraqis did drop poison gas bombs on the towns because the traditionally rebellious Kurds, who have been fighting for autonomy from Baghdad for years, welcomed the Iranian (troops)."

"It is hard to conceive of any explanation for the chemical bombardment of Halabja other than the one which Iranians and Kurds offer - revenge..."

Everyone should check out that site. It shows how many years United Nations member states (including the United States) allowed Saddam's use of chemical weapons to continue. "Halabja: Bloody Friday"
