"Tehran, April 6, IRNA -- A senior army commander has said that the remains of 200 people found by British troops in a barrack near Basra are those of Iranian soldiers killed in the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war. The Persian-language newspaper `Jomhouri-E Eslami' quoted Brigadier-General Mirfeisal Baqerzadeh, the head of the search and recovery committee for those missing in action, as saying that the
bodies had been discovered over the recent months in joint recovery operations in Iran's Shalamcheh, and Iraq's Az Zubair and Al Faw. Baqerzadeh stressed that the remains were to be repatriated to Iran, but the repatriation did not proceed as the US-led war against Iraq started.
"We eagerly ask the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to carry out its obligations and immediately take delivery of the bodies from the US-British troops, and return them to Iran in Shalamcheh border point with Iraq," he said. Baqerzadeh further said that Iran and Iraq scrapped the search and recovery operations for the missing in action on the Iraqi territory only 15 days before the war started. British troops announced on Saturday that they had found the remains of as many as 200 people in makeshift coffins and plastic bags in an abandoned warehouse near Basra, southern Iraq, along with faded photos of corpses showing signs of torture and execution. yeah, this is looking like at least one repository of the many thousands of missing Iranian war dead. The podium in a courtyard in front of a bullet-ridden wall and drainage ditch is particularly gruesome and abominable. Yeah, Saddam - it was the Iranian Soldiers' fault that you invaded them and got repelled. Scum.

I wonder if the Iranians will continue gladhanding Sa-bastard for much longer after this. I wonder what they'll think of us after we return their dead with the coffins wrapped in their national colors. While we're at it, we should blow up that damned cross-sword monument and return the 10,000 Iranian helmets piled up around its base.

and another thing, why the hell was Saddam keeping these corpses lying around? Witchcraft? You'd think he could have afforded a ditch and some lye, since he set up the whole damn shoot-people compound in the first place.

Sometimes I question that guys intellegence. If he's not shooting dogs, he's "comforting" 13 year old girls. Now he's into someone's stash.

They had documentation that they were shot in the head. As per muslim faith they should have been buried within 24 hours and they weren't. That's a war crime...
