The Washington Post ^ | April 4, 2003 | Richard Morin, Claudia Deane

A growing majority of Americans now believe the war in Iraq is going well for the United States as recent gains on the battlefield have eased public concerns at least for the moment that the war will be long and costly for the allies, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

More than nine out of 10 Americans believe the United States and its allies have been successful, with nearly half-47 percent-saying the conflict is going "very well," up 13 percentage points in a week.

"...President Bush's overall job approval rating continues to rise and now stands at 71 percent, its highest level since late last summer. A majority of Americans-54 percent-strongly approve of the job Bush is doing as president, up 16 points in a month and higher than at any time in more than a year..."

And Daschle thought he was "saddened" before, imagine how sad he is now.

Either everybody's watching the war on FoxNews or people are starting to see through the anti-American bias on CNN and the three minor networks. Either way, an encouraging sign.

Thanks. One can only imagine how high a poll not run by the DC Compost and the All Bill Clinton network would be for GW.

The DemonRat's panic is growing by the day. If Daschle was saddened a few days ago, just imagine how he felt after seeing today's paper. GW Bush's approval ratings are going up despite the media's best efforts to demoralize the American public.

Daschle: "Reading these poll numbers, I am deeply, deeply, deeply saddened, dare I say clinically depressed."

The thought that keeps comming to my mind is how the Iraq war would have been handled under x42's regime or under AlBore? This just is mind-blower how this operation is going so relatively well under President Bush. He walks the walk, not just talks the talk,(like some recent examples of human flotsum). I've stated on other threads that while clinochio was in the WH, the entire world had it's share of belly-laughs at our expense. Now that GWB is there, the world's not laughing. The fun is over for them. Don't mess with Texans in the White House or you will pay. 71% is something x42 could only fantasize about. His scummy legacy is set, forever.

Like you would know?

Foreign policy is conducted by statesmen based on National interest not emotion.

Al Gore said this week that he would not have started the war. No doubt the goodwill of France and Germany are more important to him than the security of the American people.

GWB takes responsibilty - and earns respect.

I doubt there would be an Iraq war. Our intelligence and millitary would have continued to be degraded. The elephant had been sitting in the room for 7 of Clinton's 8 years and nearly nothing of any effectiveness or substance was done.

Isn't that what some people about Tapma Bay bfore kick-off in the last Super Bowl? The US outcome will be as brutal as that Super Bowl.

Even assuming he would have ever started such a war (he wouldn't), I think Clinton lacked the patience and stick-to-it-iveness to have even perservered through the BUILDUP phase. His "instant gratification" mentality would not have held up for the several months it took merely to get in place.
