We were very pleased to receive your word of recognition on the Polish support for the United States of America.

Poland and the United States share a bundle of common values and principles including democracy, freedom and liberty for all. Over the centuries both countries supported each other in their struggles – Kazimierz Pu³aski and Tadeusz Koœciuszko under the command of George Washington fought for the American liberation, and the Americans supported the Solidarity movement in the early 1980s.

I would like to inform you, that your e-mail has been sent to President of The Republic of Poland – Aleksander Kwasniewski.

VA has a town named Pulaski as do many other States.

I enjoy music from Poland myself, there are a lot of talented musicians and singers from Poland. One of which is Anna Maria Jopek, who just collaborated with Pat Metheny on "Upojenie," she has another great album called "Bosa" (Barefoot). My other favorites are Kasia Kowalska, Edyta Bartosiewicz and Brathanki. You can order Polish CDs from here.

You might consider contacting the Polish National Alliance, a conservative Polish cultural organization in the United States. Here is their web address: http://www.pna-znp.org/

There are many educated Americans of Polish descent who would be eager to make contacts with Poles, I am certain. A look at the literature of Taddeucz Sienkiewicz, the greatness of Pulaski and Kosciusko, and genius of the renowned Jan Lukasiewicz proves that the Polish are discrete from those Europeans of Postmodern Perfidy.

Poland has been greater than France, has maintained Western values and Christian values like France never could, and I'll take a plate of pierogies anyday over fries with mayonnaise!!!

Forgive please that we Americans must misspell or mispronounce all foreign words as often as possible.

LOL. I'm not sure which of my comments would warrant a rebuke . . . so no offense is taken.

Whether Poland offered 200 soldiers or none is immaterial to me personally . . . WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO ME IS THAT POLAND OFFERED! Let's face it . . . Poland is a European country and despite the fact that "most" Europeans support the U.S., the media likes to portray it as Europe is nearly "completely" against the United States.

Poland showed courage and conviction and stepped forward in the face of this criticism. This might sound arrogant but we didn't need Poland's soldiers. But her "moral" support means everything!

France, Germany, Belgium, and Russia will be punished for their anti-American attitudes. I'm firmly convinced this war in Iraq never would've been necessary if the Security Council had stood tall and together. France will be especially singled-out -- ChIRAQ and de Villepin jetted around the world to fan anti-American flames. Hell, they were almost taking ads out in newspapers. So, just as we want to show our gratitude to Poland, you watch, FReepers as the match that lights the conservative flame sweeping the United States, will SEE TO IT THAT FRANCE IS PUNISHED!

So, Matthew, that's what I meant about how passionate Americans are. We respect our friends unlike any other country . . . but this passion can also swing to the other side of the pendulum and God help those "allies" who have stabbed us in the back. Poland is a treasured friend!

Walkingfeather is trying to coordinate some assistance and/or goodwill for Poland. I was simply volunteering to help either you or Walkingfeather in my own small way.

Poland has shown to be a GREAT friend. Americans help their friends -- and no Americans are more grateful than FReepers.

I still say you'll be amazed at how much we can help if we only knew how. If either you or Walkingfeather need any assistance you'd like me to be a part of, just let me know what kind of assistance you need and I'll do my best to elicit others to join this cause.

I am not sure what your comment about rebuke is but I agree.... Poland is a great friend by showing us outstanding support in the face of Western European snobbery. Thus we like to take care of our friends.... If you are a teacher and you can help out Matthew Paul with some Pen Pals for his students.... PLEASE HELP HIM OUT. And add any other ideas how we can thank the people of Poland.

Sorry. I thought he sent his reply to both of us, but you're right . . . he didn't. Here's the first part of his reply to me . . .

"Don't take it as a rebuke, please. All I meant was that after 1990 we could do much, much more. You much appreciate our military and political support, but in fact we offered only 200 soldiers! Why? Because that's all we could afford!"

I think we're just having a little language problem. I said nothing that "deserved" a rebuke and nothing Matthew said "was" a rebuke to me.

By the way, I want to commend you for caring. You're right. We must show our appreciation to our friends.

No problem....BTW The 200 soldiers they sent were all special forces.... SO we are very appreciative. Every coalition country needs to take part in the victory here. But we need to pay special attention to those that had to fight our former friends to help. THAT is to be commended as great leadership.
