New York Times Political Agenda "Outed"

Former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger appeared on Hannity and Combes last night and reveal that he had been approached by the New York Times to write an op-ed piece on the Iraq conflict. The Times wanted the opinion on the condition that the opinion was their apparent opinion which is "critical of the Bush administration."
Is the Times recruiting only critical opinions? Or, are they also recruiting supportive points of view?

I just wish Eagleburger would have named the Clymer editor who told him he wanted a "piece critical of the Bush administration." These propagandists masquerading as "journalists" ought to be named and embarassed as often as possible.

My point is that every subscription these leftists rags sell adds to their circulation profile which is used by their advertisers.
Advertising is the key to any media success. Every subscription lost is a nail in their coffins.
Each of us can wield a hammer if sufficiently motivated.

Is it my imagination or is General McInerney on the payroll of the Iraqi National Congress? It seems he takes advantage of every opportunity to plug putting in the INC, Chalabi, et al., into some primary interim govt role. Is it just me or has this tendency of his been already noticed?

Yeah. I'm nuttin' but an armchair tactician, but I can usually see the Major's/Colonel's point of view over the General's.

Question for anyone who may have some insight. DH and I noticed last night that the American(-Arab) (Monsoor ??Somebody) who's been in FOX for awhile now -- an "analyst" -- has anyone seen him lately? We both realized last night that we've not seen nor heard from him in a couple of weeks.

I think you're referring to Mansour Ijaz. He's American-born (Florida!) of Pakistani origin, so he's not an Arab. I think his main expertise and contacts are connected with terrorism in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Al-Queda, etc. He's really not a military guy so that's why he's probably been keeping a lower profile lately.

The NYT doesn't have time for silly things like war or criticism of the administration. It is far more important for the NYT to use its large megaphone to assist in having a privledged woman enter an extremely exclusive private club. That wise man Raines knows that this change in policy will bring about world peace. Well either that or he wants Martha Burk in a bad bad way.

the possible exception of Freidman who tries to play both sides. Huh? Friedman is a major anti-Bush blowhard. In addition to his insufferable, I-know-better-than-you, know-it-all tone, Friedman's "insights" prove time and again wrong.
He plays only one side, and it is great fun to watch how badly he plays it.
