It might be time to reconsider that marriage-at-14 law. This is disturbing.

Wasn't there a comedy about a 13 year old's infatuation with a 40 year old? Life imitates art.

The "bride" is clearly emotionally disturbed.
The parents of the "groom" however, are horrible, horrible people.
The clergyman is beyond reprehensible.

Louisiana is the only state which has not elected a Republican to the U.S. Senate since the 1800s.
Coincidence?

"I told her to be careful," said Roberts, a slender 17-year-old redhead and mother of a 1-year-old baby girl. "I didn't want her to get in any trouble." Methinks that Miss Roberts has seen her own fair share of trouble.

{"Divorce is easy," he said. "If it doesn't work, it doesn't work."}
So much for "Til Death Do Us Part" in marriage. 4 years into the marriage, I'd say the boy will start acting like Bill Clinton.

But-there are five Associate Justices of the United States Supreme Court who are about to issue a ruling that says the state cannot regulate what goes on in the privacy of your bedroom (unless you're smoking or cleaning your gun).
Could they be wrong?

For the most part, I don't disagree with that idea, and I think the anticipated Supreme Court ruling is long overdue. It's silly to criminalize consensual adult bahavior in the privacy of the home.
However, a 14 year old is still a child, notwithstanding what the antiquated law in Alabama says, and should not be allowed to marry a 42 year old woman under any circumstances.

I would guess that too.
I love the rationalization about it not being technically illegal, that everything is just fine. This mid-life crisis mama is a pedophile, plain and simple.

He's old enough to father kids. He'll be 33 when they're all growed up.

McCloskey, available for weddings at the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion, said he is an ordained priest with the Old Catholic ChurchMaybe one of those pedophile priests that think sexually abusing 14 year old boys is okay?

Funny thing is the same people who look on with approval at teen boys sowing their oats are outraged when adult men make out with their teenage daughters.

And they'll probably appear on a Jerry Springer show in the near future to declare their love for each other. / sarc.

The other day I was filling out some insurance paperwork on a 40 year old female client (overweight, divorced with a 13 year old daughter) of mine. The question of beneficiary came up and she listed her husband. Birthdate: 1977. I kind of chucked to myself as I did the mental calculation and thought, "poor kid." Yep, sometimes they like 'em young, but afterall, women statistically outlive men.

A romantic candlelight dinner between a husband and wife?
Can't have wine. IV is too young to drink.
Can't have candles. IV is too young to use matches.
Can't have it too late. It'd be past IV's bedtime.
Can't have fancy food. IV is a finicky eater.
Has to be on a Friday night. Saturday nite IV has basketball and the other nights IV has homework.
Solution: Eat pizza while watching the Disney Channel!
