Rally to Support Our troops!

If you have a family member or friend serving in the military, bring a picture to post. We will be creating a temporary collage to be displayed during the rally.

Yeah, there was a small group of them standing on the main street corner in town for a couple of weeks for awhile - all college students. People were pretty p.o.'d. Lots of complaints about them.

Glad to hear people are ticked off. Are these the same idiots that were parading in front of the Book Nook several weeks ago? My husband gave them a thumbs down as he drove by and they had the nerve to look surprised.

I'm planning on being at the rally.

Yep, same group of losers! I'm glad to hear you'll be there. GregB from Clymer will be attending as well! It's not a FreeRepublic-sponsored event. Some of us in the courthouse just decided it was time we got out and demonstrated our support. The VFW is playing a big part.
I hope to have a "Freeper Sign-in" like they've had at all the other rallies I've attended. What a wonderful group of people! Salt of the earth!

Blessings,
Kathy

If they were real IUP students they'd be too hungover on Sundays to protest against the war.

Hey Joe! You can take the boy out of Pennsylvania, but you can't take Pennsylvania out of the boy! Did you go to St. Bernard's church here in Indiana? When did you leave? Great to hear from a former "Indianian"!

I see you are familiar with our local student population! LOL! Ever been at Coney's on a Saturday night? (Actually, it's been a long time for me. I'm assuming it's still a college hangout?)

Sneakers, I-UP was the best 5+ years of my life although some parts are kind of blurry. Coney was mostly Tuesday nights for the import specials and on other nights as a stop off between frat row and uptown. Coney has really changed in the past few years. It takes up the whole block including the cool hardware store that used to be next door. The bouncers wear headsets and there is a cheesy dance club in the back:( but at least the classic part is still the same. Culpeppers is huge now also-2 floors and about 60 feet wider. Not better or worse, just different. Al Patti's was and is home, one place that will never change. If anyone's heading up for the rally I would highly recommend the Virginia baked ham or the giant cheeseburger at 9'th St Deli.

I work at the courthouse. I had to stop eating at the 9th Street Deli except for their most excellent Chef Salad. Food was too good and HUGE portions! Bad for the diet! I walk past the Coney almost every day on office errands but never stop in. I still remember one particular Homecoming when it was so packed with people my friends and I were only able to squeeze through the from one door to the other! It was pointless to stay! When I graduated I was married with a young'un so never hung out at places like Culpepper's. Every college claims to be a party school, but IUP has truly EARNED the reputation! LOL! I'll never forget the two guys sitting in a snow drift outside Leonard hall in their boxer shorts and sneakers - middle of the day in February. Drunk as skunks after too much Jack Daniels!
I spent a good number of years there myself-having 'spread my education out'. Graduated in 1993. I still think about going back for my masters, but it makes me tired just thinking about it! lol!
