Heck, we just might as well quit and come home.Well, look. We aren't allowed to rape and pillage after our victories anymore, so the least we can do is hang around for a few free meals from the locals! Heck, they might even give the navy guys new goats. :-)

Do you think that the 2 divisions blown out of the water today were happenstance and not the work of intensive scouting?

Just the outskirts?!?! Why the delay?!?! What a quagmire! This is terrible! We'll all be speaking Irakki and eating goat within a week!

The Sunday/Monday thing is strange, but the most important reason to get close is to prevent them from using chems. You need to disengage in order to use them effectively. If we can keep in their faces, it lessens the chance that chems will be used.

Wow. The marines doing the probing have to be the best of the best. God Bless them.

As Sundog said, this was reported by others earlier:
"Officials said U.S. Army and Marine Corps units reached the southern edge of the Iraqi capital on late Sunday. They said the units were conducting what they termed probing missions to determine the extent of Iraqi defenses around the city"

Good point, the Special Ops/scouts may have already secured chem weapons.
Either that or the Arab calendar is skewed.

Ya know, they keep showing these "meetings" of Saddam with his inner circle. You see him laughing and stuff. This is shown all over Arabic TV. Now, here's something I don't get. They have civilians dying all over the place and here's their leader laughing on TV. What gives?? Something's f$cked up here.
