We are going to engage in a massive construction program to build schools, roadways, hospitals, water and sewage treatment facilities, power plants etc. We're going to bring in doctors, teachers and engineers. Somebody wake up Patty Murry. We're going to be as popular as Osama!

So, back home now...
on the way Swiss radio reports - American Troops allegedly freed a POW!
This was at "noon" EST - These people absolutely REFUSE to report anything positive. BTW We are still bogged down 100KM from Baghdad as well.
Thought you'd like to know . . .

He also implied it was not a dangerous mission, leaving out the diversionary action in another location. Is that what you heard.?He implied our guys walked in unopposed and got her with no resistance (and implication, at no risk).
I had not heard there was a diversionary action. Was there?

Giving his name as Dofia Abdullah, and saying he had important information, he said: "The Baath Party were bad people, they used to hurt people inside the police station.
"You say bad words about Saddam, they take you in there and you never come out.
"Everybody also knew not to ask what happen to them there, then they disappear too.
Good post Catspaw. Really chilling article.

I just saw a report on FOx about the Brits finding a torture chamber in a police station in the South....they found meat hooks mounted on walls and electricity running to a metal bed. They found dozens of ID's in the police chiefs desk....people they had tortured and killed.. Good Lord, Dog.

I read and heard that Brig. General Brooks said that some "brave souls" rescued Jessica Lynch. It sort of implied to me that there were some casualties in this rescue.

We were watching the same tidbit. Like Rummy said, we are only getting little slices of the war.

If you have a strong stomach, read the BBC article at my link at #1417. It is chilling. And this is just one of many torture/death chambers sure to be uncovered.
To: Catspaw
another bump for 1417. all should read it. Patty Murray, too.

Late reply. I think reporters should be forever barred from asking "How do you feel" questions. I remember when Bill Cosby's son was killed there were dozens of reporters asking that. One reporter had the courage to simply say that he (the reporter) was very sorry that such a tragedy had happened. Cosby then smiled at him and said 'He was my hero.'
Asking someone how they feel about anything is lazy reportage.
I wonder how the reporters would feel about that comment?

Perhaps the Swiss are getting their news via those long Alpine horns and that's why it isn't more timely :^)
