Breaking on FOX... First Suicide Bomber was forced to set off bomb at check point that killed 4 soldiers. They threatened to kill his children and the money paid out to his family was hush money. The van full of women and children were also forced and threatened.

I'm referring to Fox being the first to claim chemicals found on two occasions, and having to back away from it, making "blockbuster" annoucnements on Saddam's fate that turn out to be fizzles, etc.

It's OK to be conservative and still realize that Fox spins things too. Don't rush headlong to label your fellow Freepers when valid points are made that run contrary to how you believe, please.

Fox was far too "out in front" on about three stories: 1) the British claim that they had "secured" Basra; 2) the repeated "discovery" of chemical weapons; and 3) the use of "scuds" before such was proven.

In the last few days, it looks to me like they have tightened up on what they let out, confirming multiple times. But still, how many different sources said the British had "secured" Basra?

One thing you cannot deny about FOX: it covers the WAR, while all these other stupid channels cover peace marches, idiot diplomats, and whining ex-military types. Fox keeps the main thing the main thing, and I love 'em for it.

Since the original story broke my impression was that the Iraqi army had given the vanload an ultimatum. "Start driving, don't stop and if you do, we'll kill you and those you leave behind."

Why would "survivors" be willing to tell the truth when their families would still be under threat of death? Doesn't pass the smell test.

The idiot reporters (my students are even calling them "idiotreporters," now, as if it's all one word!) asked Gen. Brooks if they would consider using "non-lethal" weapons like stun guns at check points. Can these people get any dumber?

Yes... they knew we would shoot at the car and the people in it, it may have been a test to see how they reacted. Next one may have a bomb in the engine area (would it go off if it was shot?)

I would also like to hear from the survivors but this is an interesting interview.

But I must keep in mind that war is hell and whether they ran it on purpose (as suggested here) or not, it is a fact of war.

Of course, if this turns out to be true, then the lamestream press will run this part of the story in the "f" section, page 275, bottom right corner in a font size of 3.5 and not mention it on their nightly news casts.

Whether you are a troll or not, I thought your shot at Faux was quite witty. While I love them and spend most of my time with them (why waste effort on networks that don't even recognize the country from which they broadcast), they occasionally border on Weekly World News-ish hype.
