YEAH!
Great info on the upcoming Rally. Would love to be there...the cherry blossoms will probably be peaking too. Sounds like a perfect day!
Haven't seen daisy yet. She'll be here though because she loves to read ladtx' essays. :)
That's great, Free. ;)
Is this the best place or what? I can sneak in and get good real-time war news and admire and re-admire Billie's graphics. It's only icing on the cake that the jealous The Thin Man cannot find anything wrong with today's thread.
Huh, I can't figure out what I'm suppose to be "jealous" about.
As for finding nothing wrong with this thread, don't think for a second that I didn't notice that the Admin Moderator had to intervene. I can't point out every error. You know, so many errors, so little time. :-)
(we all can't be Billie, there's only one Billie The Thin Man, face up to it)
I don't understand this at all. Are you calling Billie "a thin man" or did you forget a comma?
If you did forget the comma, it's still an odd statement. What's your point?
You know I do these things on purpose, don't you? You're such a sorehead if you don't have anything to complain about. :)
Memories of families waiting on the pier as a ship prepares to leave and the stark contrast of those same families waiting for the arrival 6 months later are very vivid. Sadness replaced with joy but the in-between is what "Courage" is all about.
Salute and Thank You to those wives, children and parents waiting on the pier, the tarmac, or the parade field as they say good-by to their heroes.
Heroes saying good-by to heroes - works both ways. You never forget that last kiss and embrace.
I betcha it will make seven for seven. The Finest always does.
But you did. A bittersweet picture you painted.
Oh, that's very sweet. Thank you. :)
Can't help it... Especially after seeing and talking with today's 'heroes' at the rally last Saturday. Moms, Dads, Wives, sisters etc holding pictures of their heroes for all to see. The pride and fear they have is very real. All the while holding a Support Our Troops sign and never considering themselves to be heroes. I just have to do what I can to adjust the focus. Speaking of focus, wipe your eyes. :)
