Fox News Razzes War Protesters

When anti-American war protesters descended upon Fox News Channel's Manhattan headquarters yesterday, the No. 1 cable news network used its news zipper to fire back.
In red neon letters that crawled across the building from the Avenue of the Americas to 48th Street, the peacenistas were taunted with barbs like:
"War protester auditions here today. . . . Thanks for coming!," "How do you keep a war protester in suspense? Ignore them" and "Attention protesters: The Michael Moore Fan Club meets Thursday at a phone booth at Sixth Avenue and 50th Street."
"I thought I'd have some fun with it," Fox zipper-writer Marvin Himelfarb told the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz. "I couldn't resist."

No wonder Fox News Channel is so popular!
It runs about 20 hours out of 24 at this household, between having two tv sets (mine next to the computer) and no schedule, retired - up and down, sleeping.
If they awarded battlefield commissions for being armchair generals, I'd qualify for one..:))

An irate journalism professor from an Ivy League university called Cavuto a disgrace to his profession. He went on to call Cavuto to task by saying "Your obvious support of U.S. and coalition troops and your rah-rah patriotism is an insult to hard-working reporters everywhere. You have no right having a show and even less right callling yourself a journalist." Then Cavuto's response was nothing less than righteous and sweet. I'll write a few but not the whole response. It went like this: "Well, professor, get it over it. You might have a problem thanking troops defending your right to be the obnoxious, pontificating jerk that you are, but I don't. You might have reservations about calling this country great, but I don't. And you might have doubts about showing your partiality to the flag, but I don't. (Left out some) You see no difference between a government that oppresses people and one that doesn't. You see no difference between soldiers who use women and children as shields, but I do. You see no difference between forces trying to liberate a country and those keeping it in the Stone Age, but I do. (Left out some) You're a lie, a fraud and an ingrate. Too clueless to appreciate the country that gives you the right to be the Ivy League intellectual Lilliputian you are. And too selfish to be grateful that in this country, even your type can find work." You might have to go back into FR's threads but the posting is entitled something like "On Air Cavuto Rips Into Professor". Inside the posting, one of the FReepers posts the entire script. It's well worth the search should you decide to find it. Makes me a confirmed Fox viewer.
