According to WIVK radio approximately 2,000 people braved the rain and came out to a "Support Our Troops" rally. The Knoxville News Sentinel said that by 9:00 there were approximately 1,500.
1,500 Defy the rain to attend "Support Our Troops Rally"
Only 200 attend the Anti-War rally in Oak Ridge. Guess which one makes the front page?

We went to the one in Maryville
and man did it rain hard,..but it didnt stop the turn out
must have been 3000 - 4500 people there and
not 1 american hater showed up.

I was out of town and couldn't attend, but those who did go were great.

The people there were saying things like
"If the trops can fight in a sand strom we can
stand in the rain".
it was a very hard rain,.. but it cover up the tears
