Freeping works, keep it up, Angry residents Jammed City Hall phones

Amazingly Americans are waking up and DEMANDING THAT OUR elected officials, Movie Starts, and Press start a PRO-AMERICA STANCE. The little snots are finally paying a consequence for their action.

RIP Barfing Bill Moyer, Dipps Do Dixie Cheeks, Booing at Michael Boore, and Chris Cross Rock who was yelled at by DREAMWORKS and told no bash Prez.

Thanks to the Freepers who post phone, email, Fax, and address of the Anti-American Slime. The I-HATE-AMERICA Columbian Professor has even started to feel the heat, and the other Marxist in this country are starting to realize that the game is up.

Like water dripping on a rock, one drop with the help of others will shape the face of the rock. We the People, shape our own history, and that of the Worlds.

Angry residents then Jammed City Hall phones

Mar 29, 5:05 PM (ET)

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) - A mother with a soldier son in Iraq tied yellow ribbons around a few hundred trees - a tribute promptly snipped down by a city worker.

The clip job so enraged patriotic residents in this city 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles that Mayor Andy Fox apologized, blaming bad judgment by an overzealous city employee.

Brenda Freeman, whose 18-year-old son Eric is in Iraq, and five friends had wrapped ribbons around trees in apparent violation of city rules prohibiting most items from being tacked onto trees in the public right of way.

Regretful employees of the city's Public Works Department returned the hundreds of feet of ribbon to Freeman, but angry residents then jammed City Hall phones and harangued council members over the incident.

On Friday, the city backed off. Freeman said she intended to try again Saturday.

"I feel great about the city," she said after a call from the mayor. "I feel they're definitely in support of our troops."

Socialist liberals need to learn one thing, they're not the only ones involved in mass media now. We can get our news, communicate, and act via the internet.

I have a problem with this. What happens now when some organization which we do not consider on our good list - decides they have a right to hang their stuff all over the city's trees - are we going to be so supportive - ???

Or ... is this just because of the troops - if so, then why not hang red/white/blue ribbons instead.

With all due respect, my brother is on active duty along with all those other brave soldiers. I'll flush the yellow when they're home.

I think of yellow ribbons the same as candles being floated by those who wanted to appease Russia in the cold war.

Yellow ribbons, in my opinion, are the relics of Jimmy Carters presidency of hopelessness.

Another poster on FR said that no amount of yearning or mourning would help us win this war, and I agree.

So, fly the flag and flush the yellow.

Yes, that's your opinion. Thanks for sharing. I wonder what a conversation between you and Brenda Freeman would be like? Would you be so opinionated? There are way too many families that have loved ones in battle that hang the yellow ribbon out of love, for me to be so opinionated to tell them how to show their love to those they hope and pray come home.

I don't know Brenda Freeman from Adam's apple.

I am merely commenting on the threads that are promoting or protesting the elimination of yellow ribbons.

And, in this public forum, I am giving my opinion.

Oh, as an after thought, is Brenda the one who put up all the yellow ribbons on public property?

I have said in an earlier thread that she should cover every inch of her property with yellow ribbons, but only her own property.

You do this day after day. For several weeks now you have been sharing your opinion on yellow ribbons and no one agrees with you, and it's just getting annoying. People all over the country that have never even seen FR are tying yellow ribbons, Flag pins with yellow ribbons are selling by the thousands. And, during the Carter years the people's hearts went out to those that were being held captive and tied the ribbons for their safe return. This is a heart thing. And we fly the flag too.

"...It's symbol for "Safe Return of Our Military"."

NO it is NOT.

It is a symbol of return of prisoners. The whole thing started as a result of a song about a man returning home from PRISON and he told his girl to put a ribbon around a tree if she wanted him back.

We should not be equating our SOLDIERS with common criminals.

Also, the yellow ribbons were used for the Iran hostages back in the late 70s. Not exactly a proud moment for us. As a result, they are not only symbolic of prisoners, but of weakness and defeat.

People who put them up are well meaning, but ignorant of the history and symbolism.

They are not ignorant of the meaning in their heart. That is above any history lesson.
