Surrounded By Hundreds of Iraqi-Americans

Today I was surrounded by hundreds of Iraqi-Americans. It was great! Assyrians in Chicago had a rally in one of the City parks to demonstrate their complete solidarity with the vow of President Bush to remove Saddam and his regime from power. Speakers included Assyrian-American politicians, other area politicians seeking votes, an Assyrian serviceman on his way to Iraq, highly decorated veterans of other fights for freedom including Normandy.
It was a cold day with a bitter wind but that did not deter this gathering of patriots from calling for total support from America for its military effort in their ancient ancestral homeland.
Flags and placards waved in the bright sun carried by young and old. Old Glory unfolded over all joined by flags of one of the oldest nations on earth, Assyria. And a fine flag it is. I think I will get one.
Today's Assyrians are not the dread armies of old but Christians calling out for Liberty and Freedom for their fellow Iraqis. Many carried placards with the portraits and names of Iraqis murdered by Saddam and his thugs. A graphic illustration of the face of terror and the nature of Saddam's Terror routinely ignored by the "Anti-War" demonstrators.
We listened as a veteran of Normandy called for support of President Bush and linked his fight on the beaches of France to that on the deserts of Iraq. This came from a man who had shed his blood for his nation and was the 2d highest decorated Assyrian-American. A man whom we should listen too rather than Michael Moore or Martin Sheen.
Opinions to the contrary the real people of Chicago are patriots and support the removal of Saddam and his regime of Terror.
God Bless our Leaders in this Just Cause.

Yes, but what have they done for America?
To: henderson field
They've lived here and spoken of their faith and paid taxes. Why, what have you done? ;-`

I'm wondering how these Iraqi Americans will feel about Peter Arnett's encouragement to the Iraqi regime to slaughter civilians and blame it on our Soldiers for the propaganda effect? Does anyone doubt they will do it since pissant Arnett has told them on their TV station that his reporting of the Iraqi civilian casualties has raised opposition to the Bush Administration's war?

Is there a way to get these people to tell their stories so we can post them? I can't find any 'words from Iraqi refugees' out their on the Net. I see general stories from organizations and relief monitor sites; but none with direct refugee stories.
Did you get to know any of these people? Could we get them to tell their stories and make their voices heard? Freep Mail me if you can find out.

Thanks for the report! About how many folks were out?
To: Calpernia
The guy in the article was a human shield too! He went over to Iraq and spent some time there and got out with some video. The Iraqui people changed his mind and now he is in support of the war. The changed minds of the human shields would be a powerful topic for a web page.
