Torrance California Support Our Troops Rally - Real good turn out. (Pics included)
America ^ | March 30, 2003 | Torrance Support Our Troops

Posted on 03/30/2003 5:07:42 PM PST by MissBaby

Surely it has been the same today across the country as the USA turns out to support our troops. The Torrance rally was very, very successful.

Others will likely report on today's rally but I wanted to put up a few pics to add our voices now to those of you in other parts of the country that also got out in a show of support for our troops.

For the record, I counted 600 plus. For our little neighborhood in the greater Los Angeles area assembled at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Crenshaw Blvd., we think that's a pretty darn good turnout!

We need a Rally on every street corner. Our troops must know we care and that we support them.

To a bigger rally next Sunday and one on every corner in every town. God Bless America! God Bless our Troops! Long Live Freedom!

Hi, No I don't think everyone has gone home yet. There were a lot of people there. The official time was 1 to 4 and after four hours on my feet, well, it feels good to sit down.

See you next Sunday. Bring a friend or three and let's make the turnout thousands strong!!!

Well, Lily just got home and gave me the camera to load pics up. Problem is that it was her first time with the camera without me so there were only two!! Boy is she mad!! She apparently did a lot of poses with people with the power off. I think she wants to go back to an instamatic!! Anyway, here are the "two" pic's, suitable cropped!

The idiots over at DU must be posting this thread with a "Barf Alert!"

The International A.N.S.W.E.R. people HATE this stuff. It is like sprinking Satan Worshippers with holy water in the sign of the cross.

Keep it up. This will grow and grow and will drive the leftist, hate-American crowd to their psychiatrists.

Of course they gave plenty of air (and that is a fitting word) to the hippy peaceniks in downtown Hell, of whom I wasn't even aware till I turned on the news looking for something about the pro-troops rallies. Giving new definition to "skewed coverage".

And look at you! You didn't disrupt traffic, didn't throw up, didn't die, didn't do all that stupid stuff the rabble did last week. Salute to all of you and God Bless our troops!

I looked for coverage of our rally on local news and couldn't find *any*. Channel 7 gave brief air to the Orange County rally (while wasting airspace with the peacenik anti-American protest), and according to other Freepers it's going on all over the country but the news media won't give it any coverage. As the owner of a pit bull/Staffordshire terrier/bull terrier type dog that is NOT aggressive and will NEVER be forced to fight or trained to attack, I know what it is like to see biased "reporting" on both a local and national level. Now I understand why our beloved overseas are depressed with what they see in the media as being representative of US sentiment. Do Freepers and other supporters videotape the pro-America rallies and send them to the troops?

Excellent idea about taping the rallies and sending them to the troops.

Isn't Torrance dangerously close to Compton and Inglewood? Any Bloods and Crips show up?

Everyone was there showing there support. It was great. We had several Asyrians, a women from Mainland China, a guy from England that was visiting and wanted to be a part of it and of course the guys in the funny skirts playing the bag pipes. It was great. You really have to make it next Sunday!

Well, if you could send me the money for a plane ticket from LaGuardia to LAX, I will join you. :-)

You know what, it's not here you need to be. It's on a street corner there.

We need these rallies all over the U.S. Just pick an intersection, print up a quick flyer, pass it out to a few people. The first Sunday might be a sparse, but the next Sunday will be real big.

It grows because people are tired of the antiwar jerks and want to speak out. Make it close to home, in a place with plenty of parking. Make sure 5 or 10 people are there right at the start and others will come.

We'll be looking for your post and pics this time next Sunday. Go FReepers Go!

moodyskeptic and reagandemocrat were there. What a wonderful bunch of people. The turnout was great. The people polite. Vietnam vets, youngsters, old guys, mothers of current soldiers and Marines, hundreds of American flags, British flags, bagpipes, motorcycles, all showing their support for the troops. Cars ceaselessly honking.

I spoke with several of Torrance's finest; they loved the rally. Said they were there "just in case the other side showed up". (Which didn't happen).

Great pics.

RD
