E-MAIL TO PROF. NICHOLAS DEGENOVA, Columbia University Asst. Prof. of Anthropology:
Professor DeGenova, I would appreciate an answer to this communication. I want to briefly introduce you to my son-in-law Josh who is currently serving in the Middle East helping to defend the freedom of the United States. He is 22 years old, and my little girl misses him terribly. It is a great sacrifice for both of them. He is patriotic, dedicated, a hard worker, and has just signed up for another three years.
You have been quoted as recently saying, "I wish for a million Mogadishus." Since I have not heard a retraction, I presume the quote is accurate.
I do not usually take personally the statements of those who oppose the current war. We all have our viewpoint. Josh is proud to defend yours, unless, of course, the viewpoint includes advocating the violent death of Americans.
Let me put in bluntly. Is Josh among those whom you wish dead? Would you take joy in watching his body mutilated and dragged through the streets of Baghdad? If not him, whose sons and daughters do you wish would suffer the fate of the men who were mutilated in Mogadishu?
Professor, you have a short window of opportunity to take back your statement and issue an apology. I hope you will be man enough to do it.
I wish no harm to you and your family as you apparently wish to Josh, my family, and all those serving and their families. What action will be taken should you refuse, I do not yet know, but you have made this personal.
Please do the right thing.
==========================================
I don't know where this will go, but it cannot stand. Columbia receives federal government funds. Those funds should cease until he is fired. He has the freedom of speech to say what he wants, but advocating the death of Americans during time of war should have consequences.
Will someone please provide info regarding the university's major donors?
Perhaps NY FReepers might want to FReep him in person.
Letters to the editor certainly need to be written.
Maybe an ad can be placed in the school newspaper that shows bodies being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu.
Perhaps his neighbors and every veteran's organization in the area need to see his words in print on a flyer.

Do you mean that an NYU professor can possibly express anti-Jewish attitudes and remain in his position in a city where I thought there are supposed to be more Jewish residents than there are in Israel? Of course, as long as he votes democrat the New York Times will never out this American hating anti-Semite.

I'm sorry. I'm sorry. University of Chicago is an excellent school academically but is very liberal. Many of the faculty and students are way over on the left. Obviously it is first rate academically -- its new PhDs get hired by Columbia. However, brace yourself for what your child will hear from the professors. (No matter where he goes.) And good luck with the college admission process! It's an experience.

Good job tracking down the current trustees. The last thing these guys want is to be involved in a controversy. BTW I think Robert Kraft is also owner of the New England Patriots.

LOL, sorry, it's me again. Are there ANY first rate colleges that are not enmeshed in lefty cr*p? I mean other than yeshivas and the techs? I know that the Catholics have totally gone to hell! I was hoping my kid, she's a girl actually, would stay strong enough in math/science so I could manage to get her into a tech, Carniegie-Mellon looked good for a while, and her being a girl and all I figured she'd have an edge, but no dice, she doesn't have the chops. It's awful, and she's very much a co-conspirator! I hate to think of her being subjected to left-wing nonsense (and worse!) for 4 years. Dad's against the military, and I have to be too now, seeing those poor gals and guys held captive and worse. One baby only, I got. Oh well, sorry for my neurotic post, but you know the drill, I'm a mom!

One of the things RATs have in common with Communists: They put party above country.
There is no difference. They are synonymous and co-joined.

Fantastic letter. I am afraid my email to this traitor was not nearly as kind as yours. This guy needs to be fired, yesterday. Please keep us informed of any response you get.

The only point the idiot "professor" got right...
Is that there ARE a lot of "residents in America" (I can't bring myself to call them Americans)... that NEED KILLIN....
I had no idea that there was so much hatred of America -- with the primary concentration in our institutes of LEARNING!
One can only hope, that the Marxist bastards here take up arms and give us an opportunity to waste their sorry asses...

Thanks for providing all of that info. Perhaps tomorrow I will be calmer and can write without screaming! You know how I can be sometimes! lol This still has my blood boiling and this S***-for-brains, well I just wish he would lay down in a street in front of me!
See why I need to calm down!

Doug, thanks for posting your reply. I heard on the news that Columbia claims they cannot fire him because he didn't make the remarks in the classroom. THAT is a cowardly cop-out by the university. He is employed by them and if he made those remarks anywhere on Columbia property, then they absolutely can and should fire him. Americans should accept nothing less! We need to all voice this in e-mails to the university president, not to mention how our respect for the university is severely diminished while they harbor such a traitor under the pretext of "academic freedom". This is clearly over the line and cannot fall under such a protective umbrella; it is over the line just as if he would have called for the death of President Bush.

The trustees of the university are listed above. We need to go after them. This just happened on Friday. Wait until it sweeps across the nation on talk radio. Oh, excuse me..........rather, on hate right wing talk radio.

Great letter!! I am including the following quote at the end of my letter (snail mail as well as e-mail) to the "University".....
BTW I received this quote in an e-mail from a brave soldier serving his country in Kuwait (He was my children's Awana leader before he was called to active duty)
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
