USWAR/US-led war provokes immigration to Iraq
Damascus, March 28, IRNA -- The US-led war on Iraq has ironically encouraged immigration to rather than from Iraq. Syrian security officer on Tanaf border point with Iraq told IRNA on Friday that a group of Iraqi citizens had on Friday morning left Tanaf for Iraq aboard 10 cars voluntarily.
"Syria has never imposed any restrictions on entry or departure of Iraqi citizens to and from Syria," said the Syrian officer on condition of anonymity. A large number of Iraqi residents of Zeinabieh district in Damascus, especially the new comers, have reportedly left the region for Iraq after start of the US-led war on Iraq, eyewitnesses claim. An IRNA correspondent in Syria Osam Helali reports that related Syrian organs as well as the UN High Commissioner for Refugees' representative office, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent Society have set up 1,000 tents in a camp in Tanaf on Syria-Iraq border.
The camp has the capacity to accommodate 10,000 refugees. "No refugee has entered the region and situation in the region is fully tranquil," Helali says. Father of a young Lebanese man told IRNA that his son had left Syria for Iraq along with five others on Monday to fight the US and British aggressors and help the Iraqi nation as a member of the human shield corps.

Might as well kill you all right here, right now, since we have the people and equipment handy.

This desire of Jihadists to join Iraqi "military" units should be encouraged..
All Jihadists should be FINANCED and sent to Iraq to do battle..
We should take maximum advantage of this opportunity...to kill as man of these sonsofbitches as wish to be killed..

A friend on mine sent me an e-mail pointing out what you just stated, that we should encourage all the terrorists from the world over to come to Iraq. We MUST make the most of this opportunity.

Closing that border and blocking all highways coming from Syria would be a good idea.

It worked in Afghanistan.

Assuming they are going to fight for Saddam
The article doesn't say anything about the intentions of the Iraqis.
Aren't they talking about two separate groups of people?
I'm wondering if they weren't in Syria to escape Saddam's clutches and are now returning to fight against him.

That was my first thought. They left because of Saddam and now want to return now that he is leaving, (dead). Not everyone from Iraq could get into Europe or the US. I'd still have a finger on the trigger just in case.

Exactly, we should help bus them in. Set up enlistment offices all across the middle east and bring them in.
