They also asked a Mexican doctor and a lawyer named Claudio to change about $100 million in Iraqi dinars into U.S. currency - about $325 million.

This exchange rate seems backwards. $3.25 US = $1.00 Iraqi

Secret Service officials would not comment yesterday about the possible threat or the suspects' whereabouts.

I wonder if the coyotes took the $100,000,000 and left the slobs out in the desert as buzzard feed.

tried to get smuggled into the U.S. through Mexico

These tried. I'm concerned about the ones that made it.

Look at the bright side, now maybe Bush will begin to be concerned about our borders.

Three Iraqis in Crawford, Texas wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb or anything. They wouldn't have gotten very far.

This must be total ficticious disinformation. Everyone knows the open border with Mexico is NEVER cause for concern.

Does anyone remember the post about one week ago...about some border police saying they saw and have been seeing strange activities in their local areas. Meaning...men in some type of uniforms...in fields and woods...carrying things with them?

Secret Service officials would not comment yesterday about the possible threat or the suspects' whereabouts.

So, in other words, they have assumed ambient temperature, I hope.

I can't wait to read the stuff that comes out in 20 years or so on all of this.

The Bush open borders policy may be his undoing. If not by way of these type of infiltrations then by the ballot box.

The unidentified Iraqis wanted to hire smugglers to sneak them into the U.S. because they "wanted to get to the Crawford ranch," according to the well-placed law enforcement source. They also asked a Mexican doctor and a lawyer named Claudio to change about $100 million in Iraqi dinars into U.S. currency - about $325 million.

This strikes me as a really half-assed operation. Three times here they clumsily compromise themselves: they reveal their actual target to locals, they don't have some plausible cover story of why middle easterners want to sneak across the US border, and they're carrying Iraqi money.

This looks like politically-reliable suicide commando Fedayeen types rather than anybody with the skills necessary to actually pull it off.
