[history]
Welcome to the Troop Prayer Thread! We gather here together in the belief that "whereever two or more are gathered in my name, there am I," and that by the grace of God, group prayer effort can be a great force for good in the world.
We are listing here members of the active armed services known to us for whom we want to pray. We are also seeking to keep track of the Captured/MIAs here for prayer purposes.
If you would like to submit someone for our list, you are welcome to do so at any time. Post their name or pseudonym here on the thread or freepmail amom or myself. If we have made any errors, please let us know so that we may correct the list. We will be making periodic updates. If you want to be added or removed from the ping list please let amom or me know by freepmail.
We invite everyone, active Freepers and Lurkers alike to join our circle in prayer for these fine men and women who have volunteered to place their lives on the line for the defense of our nation and for the liberation of the oppressed peoples of other nations. To them we send our greatest respect and gratitude. We send them our prayers and good thoughts. We ask for God's blessing upon them and their families.
For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.
The brave men and women who have been captured or are missing.

Father, open the eyes of the world to the heart and the might of America. May they see our compassion, as well as, our strength. We grieve for the loss of innocent life, whether it be American, British, or Iraqi, yet we know that our actions are intended to relieve suffering, to grant freedom, and to end the evil of Saddam's oppression.
I pray for our President and for Mr. Blair. Please, Father, grant them peace. Sustain them.
I pray for our troops and for the families of those who are fallen. Grant them your comfort.
Thank you, Father, for the hope we have in you. In the name of the Prince of Peace, Amen.

Am being in full agreement with you that God works in mysterious ways, tiki! I wrote that and then went for a walk. Some time after I got back, I heard the news about the bunker busters and had the thought: "We were just praying about that together!! Glory to GOD!!"

Thank you for bringing Jeffrey Ron Davis and his wife Megan to our attention, and for leading us in prayer for them. I would like to offer my prayers too.
Our Father,
Many of us have been gathering together for some weeks in this cyber prayer circle and lifting troops and their families up to you. We have seen instances of your gracious answers to those prayers. We add to our list of those for whom we desire your intercession, Jeffrey Ron and his wife Megan.
We pray that Jeffrey will be safe in battle, that he will have angels surrounding him at all times, guiding, guarding, directing, and protecting him. Let all of his equipment and machinery upon which he depends be in perfect functioning condition at all times. Lift up his heart and let him know at all times how much his family and friends love him and look forward to his return. Salve his heart and soul from any trauma which war can cause to the spirit. Grant him peace and deep, quiet, infinite joy.
Surround Megan with love and protection while she is separated from Jeffrey. Let her feel in a very tangible way your Presence and the swaddling garment of our prayers. Let her know deep inside how grateful we all are for her family's sacrifice, to send Jeffrey into battle so that harmful weapons would not be able to come to our shores to harm our countrymen. Let her know how proud we are of him, and how we truly regard him and his comrades under arms our true heroes. During this time of separation, help her with her lonesome burden. Send to her all the help and assistance she needs.
Father, we thank you for this family, and we ask that our prayers on their behalf be multiplied, performed according to thy holy will, and granted to all families and troopers who are separated one from the other and doing battle for this nation and her allies. We praise you, Father, that you have raised up such mighty young men and women who love you and the holy cause of Freedom. Protect them, each and every one.
Amen.
