Troop Prayer Thread 4

Posted on 03/28/2003 11:26:53 PM PST by TEXOKIE

Edited on 03/29/2003 3:57:38 PM PST by Admin Moderator. [history]

Welcome to the Troop Prayer Thread! We gather here together in the belief that "whereever two or more are gathered in my name, there am I," and that by the grace of God, group prayer effort can be a great force for good in the world.

We are listing here members of the active armed services known to us for whom we want to pray. We are also seeking to keep track of the Captured/MIAs here for prayer purposes.

If you would like to submit someone for our list, you are welcome to do so at any time. Post their name or pseudonym here on the thread or freepmail amom or myself. If we have made any errors, please let us know so that we may correct the list. We will be making periodic updates. If you want to be added or removed from the ping list please let amom or me know by freepmail.

We invite everyone, active Freepers and Lurkers alike to join our circle in prayer for these fine men and women who have volunteered to place their lives on the line for the defense of our nation and for the liberation of the oppressed peoples of other nations. To them we send our greatest respect and gratitude. We send them our prayers and good thoughts. We ask for God's blessing upon them and their families.

For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.

The brave men and women who have been captured or are missing.

Thanks for your prayers for my nephew, Charles Mapa.

Would you please add eastforker's son to the list? I do not know his name, but eastforker is awaiting news;his daughter-in-law had gotten a call from the battalion but had been given no specific information, so there are some anxious moments while they await word.

Heavenly Father,

We are each of us touched by the immediacy of the effects the loss of any serviceman/woman represents to the family and friends left behind.

We place before you the wife, family, and friends of your child, Benjamin Sammis who is known to our friend Southflanknorthpawsis. We join in prayer for Benjamin's loved ones. Father, grant them comfort, joy in the face of sorrow in the proper timing, and pride in the accomplishments of this fine young man. Father, somehow extend to his wife, family and friends our love, appreciation, and debt of gratitude which we have for Benjamin and their sacrifice. Grant her and them your healing Presence at all times.

Father, this victory we see unfolding on our tv sets is being bought with the rich red blood or the pledge of it from those such as Benjamin. Let this blood not be shed in vain, but let his Cause of Freedom be honored and hallowed in the hearts of all his countrymen.

These have given their all. Help us to be mindful that they died for their country so that we can live for it. Father, show us this day how to live in a manner which will honor them. Let them look down from your Heaven and be able to say, "I gave my all for them, and they make me proud that I did so."

This which we ask for wife and loved ones of Benjamin, we ask for each and every loved one who has ever sacrificed their soldier, sailor, marine, airman, or coastguarder to the Holy Cause of Freedom.

We thank you Father for these who are our true heroes.
Amen

You are welcome, Mrs. Liberty.

We are happy to add eastforker's son to our list.

Father,

Please grant comfort and peace to eastforker's daughter in law as she awaits word of her husband who has been in battle. Please protect him this day and in the days to come. Place that shield of light substance from your heart and our prayers around him and all our troops. Let this shield be impenetrable to bullet, rocket, explosive, suicide bomber, accident, and anything which threatens life and limb, according to thy will. Grant this young husband clarity in battle and the ability to position himself where he needs to be in order to be effective and safe.

Thank you Father, for being mindful of our prayers. This which we ask for eastforker's loved one, we call forth for all who are serving with our troops and our coalition everywhere.
Amen

Thank you so much for looking into this, TEX. It's great that they can safely wear flea collars around their boots or clothing. I've been offline for a while myself, due to "technical difficulties," grrr..

(Hope none of you encounter configmg error during bootup.)

Prayers continue every day, plus thanks to God for the progress the troops have made. No need for a reply, I know how tedious it can be!

We ask that those who are of the Saddam Hussein regime also be pointed out as quickly as possible so that the Iraqi citizens who have been held by them are no longer threatened. We are grateful for the ones you have already placed in our hands. We are grateful for your intercession.

God works in wondrous and miraculous ways. Alleluia!

Prayers for the entire coalition forces wherever they may be at this moment and all support units that help them accomplish their mission. And we pray for the troops that remain in Afghanistan and on the seas and in other hostile nations. And we pray for the many coalition partners and other unknown soldiers that are beyond our knowledge but are known to you Heavenly Father. Be with them all in this hour of war. In Jesus name Amen.
