[history]
Welcome to the Troop Prayer Thread! We gather here together in the belief that "whereever two or more are gathered in my name, there am I," and that by the grace of God, group prayer effort can be a great force for good in the world.
We are listing here members of the active armed services known to us for whom we want to pray. We are also seeking to keep track of the Captured/MIAs here for prayer purposes.
If you would like to submit someone for our list, you are welcome to do so at any time. Post their name or pseudonym here on the thread or freepmail amom or myself. If we have made any errors, please let us know so that we may correct the list. We will be making periodic updates. If you want to be added or removed from the ping list please let amom or me know by freepmail.
We invite everyone, active Freepers and Lurkers alike to join our circle in prayer for these fine men and women who have volunteered to place their lives on the line for the defense of our nation and for the liberation of the oppressed peoples of other nations. To them we send our greatest respect and gratitude. We send them our prayers and good thoughts. We ask for God's blessing upon them and their families.
For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.
The brave men and women who have been captured or are missing.

Thanks for your hard work. I guarantee, the troops can literally feel the prayers.
My great-aunt is a nun, and she has her whole convent praying for my husband and brother in law, along with all their compatriots in the battle.
An update to my list: Alex and Rich have been demobilized!
Jason is actually in the Army Reserve. He is with the 4th ID.
Thanks SOOO much! GG

RE: your post 109:
"She just shared with us that a couple days ago she was helping with the birthday party of one of her sons children (who was turning 10), had gone to get the balloons and when she was putting them in her car heard a voice go "Mam, do you need help with that?"
She turned around to see one of her sons standing there. He surprized her!!! "
What a wonderful story, to be surprised by a returning son! Thank you so much for telling us about this joyful reunion and your other thoughts and efforts to support our troops and service families.

re your post 116:
What a joy to hear this example of answered prayer!
Our Father in Heaven,
We bring before you the souls and family of Wendy and her son, Chris, a marine in the front lines. We have learned that she is a young widow and is shouldering the separation from her son and raising her daughters alone. Father, please take our prayers for her and lift her up. Strengthen her and bring to her whatever help she may need, from whatever realm or direction you deem appropriate. We pray for Chris and call for his protection. Assign and dispatch a legion of angels to this family and hold them safe and comforted in your arms. Let this young mother and her family understand at some level how much we love and appreciate them. Thank you, Father for hearing this prayer. Please let our prayers for her be multiplied, performed according to only thy will and granted to any and all who may be in a similar situation.
Amen

We continually pray for our fallen brothers and sisters in the services, and for their families. We honor those who gave the ulitmate sacrifice. Our prayers for healing continue for those wounded in battle.
We pray daily for the safe return of all our troops.
It is INDEED wonderful news to hear of a troop returning home safe.
Glad you enjoyed hearing about this family's son returning. But remember, they still have a son over there.
Prayers continue for all our troops!!

Thank you for that poem you posted in 139, and your impassioned plea that there never be another dark chapter for our returning military as occured during and following the Viet Nam conflict. Never again, by God's grace.
