Tonight's FReep of the peaceniks on Fresno, California's busiest intersection was just awesome! We couldn't begin to count how many people showed up tonight, but estimates varied between 250 and 300. A huge group from Riverside's Assembly of God Church joined us once more. They are just a wonderful bunch of God fearing, decent people who are just full of love of country. FReepers and regulars who were able to attend tonight's FReep were:
The Riverside group brought the largest flag I have ever seen (see a picture of it below) and a truck full of sound equipment. They played patriotic music and then many of them formed a choir who sang several songs, including the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless the USA. A screen and projector were set up and footage of the 9-11 disaster was shown as were speeches given by President Bush. They had two people, one man and one young boy, dressed up as Uncle Sam walking on stilts who made their way through the crowd.
It was just a fabulous FReep, one that none of us will soon forget. You would not believe the number of honks we got tonight from motorists driving by to show support for our troops and the war. Fresno loves and supports our troops and their commander-in-chief!
Hundreds of pictures were taken tonight. I will post a few of them tonight and then post the rest tomorrow. JustAmy has pictures to post too. If they aren't all up when you visit this thread, please check back in as you won't want to miss the pictures of those who joined us tonight!
To those who weren't able to attend tonight's FReep, we missed you and hope you will be able to join us soon. To those who were able to make it, thanks!

On page A16 of this morning's Fresno Bee I found this story this morning:
Choir voices support for war and Bush in Fresno
A choir added patriotic song Friday night to the weekly gathering at Shaw and Blackstone avenues in Fresno, where people declared their support for President Bush and the strikes against Iraq by raising signs, waving flags and speaking through bullhorns.
Thanks to speakers that carried dozens of voices across Fresno's busiest intersection, the Christ Ambassador Youth Choir could be heard above the honks and revving engines.
The singing group from the Riverdale Christian Academy, with members ranging from high school freshmen to 28-year-olds, performed for Bush and Dick Cheney when they stumped for office.
"We're just very patriotic and feel very strongly that we should support our president," said Troy Methany, 15, of Laton.
Are there any other FReepers whose names I didn't mention? If so, please speak up and be counted!
This is probably one of the largest, if not the largest, Freeps ever in the Fresno area. I salute all of your folks who are continuing to support America and its fighting men and women who defend our country.
Aw- that's OK
I am changing the name on "my doghouse" to "mtngrl's new quarters" -- just kidding .
Any one who works as hard as you do is entitled to a minor slip.
I know you don't have "Alzheimers" just "sometimers". Great job on the report - as usual.
