***Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - Day 10 - LIVE THREAD***
Everywhere! | 29 Mar 2003 | An.American.Expatriate

Posted on 03/28/2003 8:53:48 PM PST by null and void

Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:

To all who helped this get started, thank you!

Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

That satellite dish can't recover/send signals with its reflector that bent/distorted/and split up.

Holes are ok - as long as they aren't too big. The microwave signals can still reflect from minor holes in fabric.

But dents and rips and bends reflect the signal AWAY from the receiver/transmitter at the middle and increase static to unuseable levels.

Smart daughter you have there! I had begun feeling neglectful, so I went over and babysat for the 11-month old tonight so her mom & dad could go to a movie. She slept the entire 3 hours. So....I watched the war. LOL!

I'll tell you, I really like Leventhal's live reports. He's doing a heck of a job out there and looks like he fits in fine with our Marines.

God Bless them all!

Fox has also been reporting for a while that we've got CIA and SpecOps wet teams inside the city.

Having repaired a few dished hit by lightning and ice damage you really won't know until you re-aim the dish and check your levels.

Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you need to get on the horn for a new dish.

Since that dish doesn't appear to be pointed up at a bird I'd sayu it's toast. That or the guy is weeping in a corner somewhere to shell shocked to even tie his shoes.

During the first Gulf War, Saddly Insein made it a point to be seen IN PUBLIC, shaking hands in the markets, smiling, firing a gun into the clouds.

Those were completely staged events, they are more like television shows he had produced. (There is one rather famous one where he sitting with the western looking children). Anyway the man is paranoid and wouldn't have been walking around in the streets of Baghdad. Having said that, he's not staging those events today.
