Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Frankly, I have always enjoyed his analysis - for the most part - because he usually has a different angle on things but I must admit I have canceled my Weekly Standard subscription twice since Bush was elected. First time after the China plane incident and then again over their Bush bashing over the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
I enjoyed reading the Weekly Standard from the first week it was published. Had a subscription for years up until the 200 Presidential Election when it was obvious that the Weekly Standard was promoting McCain. I cancelled after that. I am resubscribing though because they have some excellent writers. And, Bill Crystal has been consistently supportive of President Bush and the war effort. I like their site online too.

What a lovely gesture - these people need our support and you have gone the big extra mile. Kudos to you.

Mine likes his ability with the screen writer! LOL! Plus, he has a huge crush on Kiran Chentry so he has no room to talk!
Kiran is very pretty.

I'm glad to see someone is finally calling these murderers what they really are: homicide bombers, not "suicide" bombers.Stupidcide?

"What's the hurry? " I agree, Wait to secure the supply lines, make sure we are ready when we move. In the meantime, you have six days to take out Iraqi forces with air power every time they gather somewhere.
Six Days for the Iraqi troops to sit and wait. Six days for them to think about surrendering. Six days for them to think about turning on Saddam. Six days for the people to think about and organize uprisings against Saddam. Six days in which someone might tell us where Saddam is. Six Days is a long time when US troops are surrounding you.
It also occurs to me that there is a certain risk to moving *too fast* in taking down the regime. Moving too swiftly might inspire *panic* among the top Iraqi brass... panic that might lead to use of chem/bio weapons when they might otherwise think better of it.

Guess I did miss the article about the grenade murderer being mistreated. If it's the one about life in general in the ole USA being so tough on minorities - read it.
If there's another article about being mistreated after being arrested for murder, I say bravo.

I renewed about two months after each time I canceled. I do enjoy the writing, the Scrapbook can be hilarious and the Parodies are a hoot too. I too started with the magazine as soon as it came out. I didn't cancel over the McCain business. Not sure why as I was a W supporter from the beginning. Perhaps because it was so short-lived.
I forgot about the online site. I'll have to get back on that too.

Just read on the Fox main page that we have dropped over 6,000 bombs in/on Iraq since the war started.
Just assume that only 1 person dies on average per bomb, and you might get an indication of how the war is really going.

The media are homesick. They are surely feeling inconvenienced by this 10 days of War. Judging from the "intelligence" of their questions, I'd say that we were being inconvenienced.

They published a statement that I made about Bob Dole during the 1996 Presidential campaign in the Scrapbook section and in 1998 sometime during the fall they published my letter to the editor. Jonathan Last called me to get my approval of the editing and was a really personable guy. Told me that they really got a kick out of my letter. So, it took a lot for me to cancel them and I am glad they are back on track. I was also a supporter of George W. Bush from the start. Best decision I ever made besides my choice of husband!

I've always found ALL Microsoft sites some of the slowest on the internet, and have always wondered why.Bloatware. Evidence seems to indicate that MS pays it's programers on number of lines of code written. No credit for code accuracy or efficency...

I just re-registered with the online site. Thanks for reminding me!

Yesterday, according to Fred Barnes of Fox News, Moran hit a new low, when he asked Ari " shouldn't the Iraqis who shoot the women and children in the back, be considered patriots?".Words fail me.
