Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

"What's the hurry? "I agree, Wait to secure the supply lines, make sure we are ready when we move. In the meantime, you have six days to take out Iraqi forces with air power every time they gather somewhere.
Six Days for the Iraqi troops to sit and wait. Six days for them to think about surrendering. Six days for them to think about turning on Saddam. Six days for the people to think about and organize uprisings against Saddam. Six days in which someone might tell us where Saddam is. Six Days is a long time when US troops are surrounding you.

FN: Chris Kline in N. Iraq: Mostly quiet on the northern front. Iraqi forces have withdrawn some 10 miles away from their forward line..back to Kirkuk....(our) bombing campaign clearly had an impact...10,000 Kurdish forces working today w/allied forces and a few Spec. Ops mopped up the (Al Qaeda -related cell..El Al islam (sp) ...remaining ran for the hill....Re. Kurds..."I wouldn't say that the fear of a chem. or bio. attack has diminished." They have no suits, masks, no way to protect themselves of chem. attacks....until this war is finished the fear will remain."
