We don't KNOW that these are chemical weapons in these drums. However, I can think of a really GOOD way to find out. Can you say 'Carpet Bombing'? Sure you can, let's say it together ..... Carpet Bomb.

If the enemy and the barrels could be seen, why couldn't they be shot with a .50 caliber machine gun? Ripping up a few barrels near the enemy would be a great confirmation of their contents.
