You left off the UN. They received over $500mil last year for administering (some 4000 employees) the oil for food program according to a CNN report last night.

Not only who benefits...but who actually HAS KEPT THAT AHOLE IN POWER ALL THIS TIME
AND KEPT US FROM TAKING HIM OUT
And the number one beneficiary......the UNITED NATIONS.....and Kaffi Anan
the UN is a terror sponser...
Since we declared a war on terror and ALL who support terrorists....
arent France, Germany, Russia, China and the UN on our list of next targets?

French total trade with Iraq under the oil-for-food program is the third largest, totaling $3.1 billion since 1996, according to the United Nations. Someone please tell me why President Bush chose to reinitiate the oil-for-food programme Under the UN. I have a hard time believing Blair needs it that badly.

If we make Saddam a hero in the Arab world, he may win the election in the New Iraq.
It would be kind of like what goes on in DC.

Man, I am just totally shocked and awed! I cannot believe this. Before I read this, I was sure it was more like Paraguay, Lithuania, Mozambique and Liechtenstein. I am just shocked!

I think if USA declare war to just Russia and China, it will be USA end. It will be quick nuclear war.

And that $500M is off the top, (i.e., profit, probably untaxed), while the other numbers are sales, not profits.

Here are the latest numbers as a percent of total imports:
France 22.5%, Australia 22%, China 5.8%, Russia 5.8% (2000)
Notice the absence of Autralia in the article and the absence of Germany on the list. I don't mind cites to support hypothesis but by the authors inference the afore unmentioned Australia is part of the problem and not the solution.
A point of argument yes, but also flawed inductive reasoning if taken to a conclusion certain.

And where is the US on that list? I know we're a big buyer in the food-for-oil program...

So now we know what the Frogs, Krauts, and Russians get out of it. Still the big question: What does the Pope get out of it?

I have read this before, but the question that I want answered is what would the loss of these contracts mean to the economy of both France and Germany?

Bush wants to use the Iraqi oil to pay for the humanitarian assistance. Once the war is over, the trade ban will be lifted, so who cares?
