French total trade with Iraq under the oil-for-food program is the third largest, totaling $3.1 billion since 1996, according to the United Nations. Someone please tell me why President Bush chose to reinitiate the oil-for-food programme Under the UN. I have a hard time believing Blair needs it that badly.

Bush wants to use the Iraqi oil to pay for the humanitarian assistance. Once the war is over, the trade ban will be lifted, so who cares?
