CAMP VIPER, Iraq -- Marine Sgt. Steven Zakar said he saw boys about 7 years old armed with AK-47 rifles standing in front of Iraqi troops on the banks of the Euphrates River.
Marine Cpl. Stephen Hammond said he saw a hospital replete with fake patients and doctors used as a headquarters for Iraqi forces.

They say "all's fair in love and war."
This is a Stalinist government. The uprising in Basra may have been started by the NKVD in order to identify who is against the regime. I hope we have not forgotten the tactics used by totalitarian governments, because Saddam appears to be using every one of them.

I wonder how big a wave you could make with a MOAB dropped on the river up stream? What would be the optimal detonation height for maximum wave height be? Would the wave be big enough to surf on, it might be big enough to displace dug-in troops along the river bank long enough for a firefight.
