The Portland Fire Bureau which said the United Staes flag was being removed Monday to protect Firefighter from peace protestors, rescinded the order at 9AM Tuesday.
That was about three hours after City Comissioner Erik Sten, who oversees the Fire Bureau, picked up his Monday evening newspaper and read about Monday's order
Sten said he had not been consulted about the decision.
As phone calls and e-mails flooded in from far away as Texas to his office, he decided to tell the Bereau to reverse course.

Cool! (Provided they don't decide to arrest everyone who sent "What's up with that?" emails on a 'Bias' charge)

"... the United Staes flag was being removed Monday to protect Firefighter from peace protestors..." Wouldn't it have been easier just to give them all .45's?

Sam Wolf posted the thread about this BS, and before many of us could respond, the left wing BS was stopped.
Portland for many of us is no different than France or Germany with their socialist/communist, Fedayeen and enviralist mayor, the Katz!

A word to the wise: We might be better not exult in victories - even a small one - but an important one - like this one. (But thank God for this one).
Reason: Hitlery's commie goons will find a way after every exultation to bash you from another direction.
Just quietly applaud. Send them a thank you. And move on to the next challenge.

Thanks! Do you have any history and maybe a picture of Chief Ed Wilson?

Chief Ed Wilson
Chief Ed Wilson was sworn in as Chief of Portland Fire & Rescue on March 14, 2001. The forty-six year old Chief has been with Portland Fire & Rescue for 23 years, starting his career in 1978 as a line firefighter. Most recently, he has served as a Division Chief in charge of Emergency Operations- the largest of the Bureau's four divisions, which oversees all emergency responses such as fire, medical, disaster preparedness, hazardous materials response, marine response, and special rescue. He has also provided leadership to the organization as the Chief Training Officer, and has worked in the Logistics section, and information services. Wilson has a Bachelor's degree in Fire Command Administration from City University.
Leadership in professional organizations includes serving as past president of Oregon Fire Chief's Association, board member of the Portland Guadalajara Sister City Association, member of the Multnomah County Fire Defense Board, member of Governor's Fire Service Policy Council, member of the Board of Public Safety Standards and Training, member of Oregon OSHA Firefighter Advisory Committee, board member of Cease Fire Oregon, board member of the Trauma Intervention Program Advisory Board.
In his capacity as TIP Advisory Board Member, Ed has gone above and beyond to help not only the local TIP Chapter, but to make phone calls and open doors to other cities considering a TIP Program. He has shown public support not only in Oregon, but Internationally at the IAFC Convention.
On a professional and personal level, Ed has always been a natural "TIP Volunteer". He is the first to ask how people are doing after a traumatic event, check on the fire bureau staff, offer a listening ear and just "being there" to show he cares. Because of this characteristic, the TIP volunteers honored him with the "Good Samaritan Award" in 1999. His staff, co-workers, peers and Portland City Council respect Chief Wilson as a leader.
We are fortunate to have such a wonderful person as part of the TIP Team in Portland. When Chief Wilson is not busy at work, you can find him relaxing or walking with his wife Linda, or spending time with his son, daughter and new daughter-in-law.

Try New York.
I e-mailed them about it as well.
Told them that as a former soldier I was disgusted with their performance.
