The whole internet is shutting down, it seems to me, because of this RIAA nonsense.

Seems like most web broadcasts are gone..most music sites are gone, or their libraries vastly diminished, and pret' near every newspaper I log onto wants me to register, come up with and remember a password, then wait for an email to go back to the site to read the story.

So now...when I go to a NY Slimes story, or LA Slimes story, or Jerusalem Post story, and they all want me to register (which is but a precursor to charging me for reading the site, I believe) I just shut down the page and find it elsewhere.

Usually in a google cache!

I do wonder what we're gonna do when we enter Baghdad. Obviously we'll be succesful, but we want complete control of the city to search the tunnels and complexes throughout the city, and...how' we gonna do that if we've got Fedayeen conducting guerilla warfare against us at every rooftop and from every manhole cover?

I used t'think that they'd just revolt, but I'm beginning to think not.

Ophiucus, I posted an article regarding the 4th Infantry from Fort Hood and another from Colorado are suppose to ship out Sunday. My son here at Fort Benning will be shipping out pretty soon. All their equipment and vechicles shipped out this past weekend. But the 4th Infantry were the first ones to get orders many months ago. Their equipment is in Turkey, but they never deployed until now. My son and his unit here at Fort Benning got their first orders the Friday after New Years Day.

DOD ANNOUNCES STATUS OF 507TH SOLDIERS

The Department of Defense announced today the status of 507th Ordnance Maintenance Company soldiers who were ambushed March 23 by enemy forces in Iraq.

Dead are:

Pfc. Howard Johnson II, 21, of Mobile, Ala.

"Iraq May Resume Oil Exports Within Weeks"

Due to the speed of the ground invasion virtually all of the existing Iraqi oil infrastructure is in good shape. Experts believe that once control of southern Iraq is consolidated in the hands of the coalition the oil will flow fairly quickly.

The question now is who will control the sales of Iraqi oil. Will it still be the UN oil for food program?

Iraqi women interviewed. She said BAG will not fall it will be liberated and freed.

One of the things the wonderfule EU/UN weenies keep forgetting is that, once we "win" this war, we will still have many months of mopping up. The loyalists are not going to stop fighting and terrorist groups will most certainly be active.

It will not be possible to reinstate UN programs until the country is "safe". That won't happen until the axis of weasel stops blocking attempts to prosecute this war to the end, arrest, try and convict the members of the present regime for crimes against thier people, and allow aid to resume to arrears already liberated.

The house to house searches will be necessary and we WILL lose some fine men and women while doing it! There is however, no alternative.

Thanks. My impression was that these was a call for new units - initial orders.

I can see the point of theother post, that our supply lines are too vulnerable. I have the feeling that the thinking was things would be over too quick too worry about them.

Will it still be the UN oil for food program?

The Gen. Sec. of the UN announced that the oil for food program has been suspended so that the US has to pay for rebuilding. My guess is that the new Iraqi government will control sales of oil.
