Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

ROFL, C-Span is priceless.
It's always from the same script to (Rush caught onto this on his show years ago): "I voted for Bush and I've been a Republican for X years...BUT...blah, blah, blah"!
You can tell they are liars!

No they're not, I just heard Tommy Franks on the radio...he's not concerned that we've got a 300 mile long supply chain...etc. You know why? Because WE ARE IN CONTROL of the entire SOUTHERN Iraki theatre...we have AIR SUPERIORITY!!!
Do yourself a favor, DON'T Listen to CNN!!!!
God Bless USA!

I heard Hackworth on Sean Hannity and he didn't say anything negative. He was praising the troops and kept saying we will win this thing. Of course, he didn't have much time and I sensed he was holding something back. In any event, it is curious how he is all over the place and not very consistent in his presentation.

And we've got control of the ports and airstrip H-3 and the airstrip up North the 1,000 paratroopers from the 173rd just secured.
It can be turned easily into 2 strips. Supplies and armor and men will be flying in soon.

I agree...I heard him on Hannity also and he was so opposite just a few hours later. Griped about the gulf war...compared Rummy to McNamara. I'm not concerned one iota about the # of troops we have...these guys are professional soldiers and professional generals. Always leave the real work to the professionals...the experts are just there for the side-show.

Heard on CNN (I know) that planes are flying in already at "regular" intervals.
To: Fledermaus
I'm getting excited now...on way home from work I heard reports on CBS and ABC radio that there are "allegedly" about 1,000 Iraki "troops" on their way down the Euphrates to come and "see" us...apparently they don't have any REAL boats for transporting troops, so the Irakis are coming down the river in FAIRIES!! LOL---imagine all these little twinkly things carrying Iraki troops...how many troops can a fairy carry anyway?
I would really love to be a BUFF or some udder airborne weapons platform and just take a leisurly tour UP the river with nightvision and start straffing and lasing and dropping ordinance etc...how much fun would that be..on a bunch of fairies???
Let's Roll up the ribber...

We reportedly only flew about 600 sorties yesterday after 1,500 the day before.
I wonder how many we'll get in this day.

You know, if they could find a quote from someone in the administration, they would have used it by now and the tape would be running.
I submit that Mara DOES know who floated this story first, and they are all trying to dodge the fact that it WASN'T the administration.
To: chnsmok
Just saw something streak across the top of the msnbc cam, anyone else catch that?
To: pitinkie
LOL!
To: ChewedGum
He compared Rummy to McNamara?!! LOL! I knew that was going to happen soon. Didn't think it would be this soon though.

Anyone else notice there are always booms of some kind during Shep's report?
That is probably the Parking Enforcement Unit slamming their car doors. >:)
