Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Why would a talking head like Steffie (he is NOT a reporter) even attend these briefings? That's for the Little People.
Oh, wait. I know why Steffie is miffed. He bought all these new War Correspondent clothes & he has no place to wear them (in addition to bringing along his own makeup artist, hair stylist, chef, etc.). Steffie is in a snit.

Cancel the briefings.Pack 'em all to the front lines. Let them do the de-mining.
To: prairiebreeze
The HELL with them. We have a war to win. This ain't a damn game show.

I'd forgotten it was little George (whose feet don't even touch the floor when he hosts This Week). Little turd. Spoiled rotten - I can't go on or would get banned.

Do you think the reporters would have treated Jesse Jackson like they are this good man?

I think that we should strap some of the whiners to some of the ordnance so they can verify that we hit what we say we do.
To: prairiebreeze
I agree Brooks should tell them to shut up and get out of the press breifing room. And.......as far as the maket bombing question, I am sick of the liberal press just fishing for some negative scoop.
To: Dog
A lot of stuff is going on "in the distance". We get only the tip of the iceberg -- okay maybe a big tip, but a whole lot of stuff is still behind the curtain.

Ah Ha!!!
With a remark such as that and applause from the others..... if I was to think like a pure lib..... one can assume that reporters are racist.../sarcasm.

LOL! That NY Magazine reporter all in a snit because these briefings actually cover news which may have broken elsewhere. Hey, butthead, Some Americans get their news FRoM these briefs.
OTH, I agree the briefs are somewhat boring. I think this is deliberate on the part CENTCOM. They're not only defeating the Iraqis, they're causing the media to defeat themselves!

The repeated question that our taking Iraqi tv out is against the Geneva Convention are asinine. Haven't heard one discuss how it's against the Geneva Convention to use children as human shields.
I believe the scales are falling off a lot of eyes in the last week.
