"BAGHDAD JIM" MCDERMOTT SPONSORS RESOLUTION TO RESCIND AUTHORIZATION FOR WAR

Our very own Congressman, "Baghdad Jim" McDermott had a rough evening. A substantial group of Patriotic Americans (Spurred on by KVI's John Carlson) crashed his scheduled appearance outside the Federal Building in Downtown Seattle last night. A surprisingly small crowd of about 250 Anti-America demonstrators were suddenly inundated by about 150 Pro-America demonstrators just minutes before McDermott took the podium.
McDermott seemed to be taken aback by the boisterous crowd holding We Support Our Troops signs and chanting USA!...USA! McDermott stated that the Anti-America movement was actually pro-troops because they don't want our soldiers to get hurt, while the insensitive pro-America crowd callously advocates sending our troops into harm's way. Using that logic, perhaps we should keep our police officers at the police station, after all one could get hurt stopping a robbery. Responding to the boos and taunts of the crowd, McDermott finally blurted out "If you hypocrites really support this war you should go straight down to the recruiting office and sign up for duty!"
So we have a congressman who believes that only those in the military have the right to advocate on foreign policy matters, if only it were so. Nonetheless, Mcdermott's insinuation that only those who serve in the military have the right to comment on matters of war effectively disenfranchises the other 99% of us who are not in the armed services.
As a stunned McDermott left the rally, one of his constituents greeted him "Thanks for coming, Traitor!" What a great moment in American History.
Last week McDermott again brought honor to our state by voting no on a congressional resolution supporting our troops, the resolution passed by an overwhelming 392-11. McDermott is at it again today, co-authoring a resolution to rescind authorization for the war in which we are currently engaged. Shouldn't McDermott's photo be placed in the dictionary right next to the word despicable?

You are well aware that nobody ever said Iraq was going to invade the USA. Nive try. Don't tell me you agree with these sewer groups infecting our streets.

Yeah, and Clinton didn't go after OBL because he wasn't a threat to the US either.

I don't think the explosively dejeweled one would want Jihad Jim to do that.

Let us attempt to distinguish between the various types of demonstrator, it is a fun exercise to which everyone can make a contribution.
The "real thing":
1) A person of concience who always, invariably, opposes violence between people. A good and moral kind of patriotic soul who serves by working in hospitals in wartime. This kind of person is universally respected as having the courage of their conviction. This special sort of concientous objector is also vanishingly rare among the throngs who camoflage their agendas of violence and hate under the raiments of a creature of concience.
The ghouls who adorn themselves in the attractive raiments of the concientious objector:
2) Communist lackeys. Unfortunately, the communist propaganda machine built before and during the cold war was so well financed and organizationally developed that even its dying gasps still propel intellectual garbage into public discourse and capture weak and damaged minds. This stripe of human garbage (sorry, that's the status, and EVERY such diseased communist maniac IS redeemable) is the financial and organizational motive force behind the street protests. This is also the fundamental hypocrisy of the "anti war" movement, which is to say, "People For The Violent Overthrow Of Democracy And Mass Murder Of Evil Capitalist Pigs Call Upon You To Protest For Peace!" has, obviously, no legitimate moral force.
A distinction without a difference are leftist, or liberal, or socialist, or marxist, or trotskyite, sympathizers to whom the dazzling success of American capitalism and democracy is an affront to the pathetic failure of European socialist democracy, but the multihued camoflage of the hate-America left merely seeks to obscure its single, diseased collectivist core.
Basically, this is a human who wants to be a herd animal, freedom is not their wont, either the simple life of the slave is their ardent desire, or the power of a functionary in the machines of oppression is their desire.
3) Violent anarchist types who agitate, march, burn loot and pilliage for no reason whatsoever. In a word, barbarians.
4) Cowards. There isn't a better word. Having relatives and friends in Iraq as most of us do (including yours truly) or not, having America engaged in war induces a panicky feeling deep inside, an unwanted excitement, a state of agitation that is unwelcome, in short, a natural response to the horror that war is loosed upon the world. Those among us whose minds fail, those who abandon reason, those whose resolve to defeat our enemy falls victim to the miserable reality and tragedy that is the face of physical conflict.
5) Actual enemies. People whose sympathies are with a specific foreign adversary, or whose alliegance is always aligned with any deadly foe of their homeland. These folks can be hard to distinguish from group number two above.
6) The dithering, indecisive, fogbound moron lost in a sargasso sea of permanent vaccillation. Asking some folks to decide something is, unfortuantely, to impose upon their morbidly indecisive minds an impossible conundrum, there are folks who just cannot make up their minds about anything whatsoever. They go out of their way to log on to websites and agree to respond to a poll, in order to render their "I cannot decide" responses. Poor dears, that seems a valuable contribution to them.
So there is, I hope, a decent start. And let our hearts not be troubled, friends and countrymen. Americans marched for the Kaiser, Americans marched for Hitler, Americans marched for Stalin, there is always a minority which is evil by inclination, indoctrination, or delusion, fear not!
If the herd animals, barbarians, cowards, enemies, and the clueless ever outnumber functional citizens of our republic, then we objectively to not deserve our cherished liberties, as A People.
Our founders placed their faith in the unerring wisdom of the majority for a reason, take heart, we will weather this storm despite the collectivist addition to the traditional rogues gallery of poor citizens.
We will not tire, we will not falter, we will not fail.
God Bless America!
God Bless Our Best and Brightest, in harm's way sacrificing so that others may live.

It's one thing for a member of congress to oppose the war. It's entirely another thing to go over to the enemy to lend support and carry water for them by railing against your own country. In another time McDermott would have to worry about being tried for treason and hung. And if he were tried today, and I were the judge and jury, he would have been already.

I agree with you here but ohioman, who was arguing with droberts earlier, doesn't think that even these people should be allowed to exist. He would kill or imprison all who disagree with him even one little bit. He spends his time on this forum threatening people and calling them names. Real thoughtful.

McDermott's rant exposes the bankruptcy of the liberal argument. There are literally hundreds of exceptionally risky occupations that require very brave and competent people to do them. Thank God we have them. But they volunteered for these jobs, and are willing to do them. And can do them very effectively. However if no one else was willing to do them, I'm sure many people on this forum would be more than willing to volunteer. Unlike the Whollyweird rabble who are unwilling to sacrifice anything.

If creepy McDermott ever comes to this side of the Cascade Mountains, my hope is that we can protest his communistic dematoid derriere out of WA.

What you say is complete bullshyt! I do respect the concientous objector who provides humanitarian needs and "HELPS" during times of war. To me, that subject has yet to be brought up. I never said let's get them damn quakers. You sound like many a liberal, as you put many a word in my mouth.
The people out on the streets are not COs. They hate Capitalism and America. And I will always call those who agree with these people scum. I will never give them the respect they think they deserve. They are the enemy.

You make an interesting point.
I have at least one friend who is a magnificent human being, a real excellent dude, admirable, interesting, accomplished, you get my point. He opposes Bush, opposes the war, even today, when that opinion is objectively pro saddam and if followed would bring about a catastrophe whose magnitude would dwarf the millions who were butchered when we left Southeast Asia a generation ago.
Do I want my most excellent friend to cease to exist? No! The world would be diminished without my esteemed friend.
So, let us say, politically wrong minded people should cease to exist in terms of relevance to the reasoned public debate which guides our nation and shapes our destiny.
Let us not condemn the existence of the wrong headed servants of mayhem, but merely their political relevance.
And that we must do. And in large measure, modern history has rendered them irrelevant. It is the knowledge of the death of collectivist ideological relevance which drives the bitterness of many whose socialist dreams have passed into history.
Those who march in our streets and call for soldiers to mutiny and murder their officers, and whose exortations have been answered with the wanton butchery of American military commanders in the theater of war, they should be deprived of their liberty post haste. Those who do violence against our nation in wartime should be deprived of their existence for the same reason that saddam must be deprived of his.
That the innocent may survive.
"If you hypocrites really support this war you should go straight down to the recruiting office and sign up for duty!"
Hey Jim, I did my time in hell. Why don't you take your Anti-American Ass and go join the French, then you can both surrender together you Traitorous POS.

Jim McDermott is not as important as this..........the people of Seattle are the most anti-american in the land.....don't believe it? Go down to the Fremont section of Seattle and enjoy the 18 foot statue of Lenin.....and while you're there don't forget to kiss his butt, unless of course you really do care about America...then you'll topple the grotesque tribute.....do you have what it takes? Or are you just another big mouth?......America is being destroyed from within because it is full of citizens just like those in Seattle.....commie appeasers.....wake up America.........

The National Socialist (Democrat) party should be disbanded and outlawed. These fifth columnists pose as much of a threat to our nation as our enemies abroad. We're being caught in a pincer movement between foreign and domestic enemies. At some point in the future, we're going to have to deal with them.
Sometimes I actually wish we were invaded. If we were, our enemies on the Left would join the invaders, and then we could shoot them with impunity.

How about a resolution to rescind "Baghdad Jim" McDermott's birth certificate? Heh heh heh. I might actually be rethinking my position on abortion. I might be in favor of it... as long as a fetus's politics could be determined in the womb. A fetus afflicted by liberalism could be disposed of using the same "compassionate" logic of aborting one with birth defects. Just call it a pre-emptive strike.
