PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has strongly condemned the U.S. military's use of dolphins and sea lions in the Iraq war to help clear underwater mines.

Sgt. Andrew Garrett trains bottlenose dolphin 'K-Dog' armed with camera in Arabian Gulf

About 100 dolphins and sea lions are helping U.S. troops clear shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf to ensure safe passage for vessels, including those that will provide humanitarian relief, reports the London Evening Standard.

I'm sure that if Saddam were to set every single animal in Iraq on fire, we wouldn't hear a peep from PETA. God, I hate communists.

Did PETA rise up in arms when they showed videos of the Al Qaeda gassing the animals in Afghanistan. Probably not! Its okay when animals kill animals.

Dolphins are willing to work for a living, unlike the liberal masses who want a free ride on my tax dollars.

Besides if the dolphins weren't happy wouldn't they just swim away?

The Dolphin's representative in the UN has issued a protest:

"EEEEEEEEEEKK SQEEEEEEEEEEK EEEEHA PATUI.

Yes, but can he veto a resolution?

Dear PETAphiles,

Dolphins know a hell of a lot more about sonar and underwater navigation than you and I will ever know. They merely point out mines for us so we can blow them up, and provide safe passage for humanitarian aid to the suffering people of Iraq.

What have you done lately?

One thing nobody else mentioned is that the military guys who are actually _working_ with the dolphins must have one of the most interesting assignments in the entire service.

I wonder what their background was before they signed up?

Hahaha! What they don't understand is that animals and dolphins are more useful than they are :)

Wait....Wait.

PETA should be happy! These dolphins didn't volunteer. They were drafted a la Al Sharpton's suggestion. These latter day Mr. Limpet's are our friends. That's more than Goddam will ever have!

Didn't some country like Shrilanka offer the US 200 monkey to "clear" mine fields? PETA won't like this one either.

How many dolphins would die if an oil tanker struck an undetected mine in the waters near Basrah? PETA needs to get a grip on reality. There are always trade-offs.

Exactly! These people got their food chain mixed up, did they not pass basic science? NEXT, they will be furious over this.

LOL!Peta needs to get a freaking life and stop showing their lack of basic science skills, ignorance.

______________________________________________________________________________

There is a up to $500.00 (not to exceed ever $25,000) fine to any one that kills an 'endangered' fox, or upsets/touches certain turtle nest eggs along our shores. Under the detailed listings of the federal Endangered Species Act.

There is a $350.00 to $500.00 'amount due' to kill the human species. (AKA abortion) And in second/third human trimesters; scissors are jabbed into the HUMAN head and the brains are sucked out-In elective surgeries- daily, in the United States, all under the guise of a woman's "right." The only real "right" is the "right" to remain silent.

When will humans become "endangered" and protected?

When will the so called pro-"choicers" and PETA followers, realize basic science skills of the food-chain? Human's are NOT at the bottom of the food-chain.

You never hear PETA freaks complaining about them serving up Mahi-Mahi in restaurants, so they are nothing but blathering hypocrites! Atleast the dolphins are patriots! (why do I feel an NFL joke coming after this comment?)

These are the same people who sent the PLO a bit of hate-mail when an explosive-laden donkey was used in a suicide bombing

They didn't register shock and horror with the loss of human life but rather with the donkey exploding.

Delusional morons

7 Things You Didn't Know About PETA

  1. PETA has stated repeatedly that their goal is "total animal liberation." This means no pets, no meat, no milk, no zoos, no circuses, no fishing, no leather, and no animal testing for lifesaving medicines. 1

  2. PETA has given tens of thousands of dollars to convicted arsonists and other violent criminals. 2

  3. PETA funds the misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine 3, an animal-rights organization that presents itself as an unbiased source for nutritional information and has links to a violent animal-rights group called SHAC. 4

  4. PETA has used their contributors’ tax-exempt donations to fund the North American Earth Liberation front, an FBI-certified “domestic terrorist” group responsible for fire bombs and death threats. 5

  5. PETA regularly targets kids as early as elementary school with anti-meat and anti-milk propaganda. 6

  6. PETA spends less than one percent of its $13 million budget actually caring for animals. 7

  7. PETA has repeatedly attacked groups like the March of Dimes, the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the American Cancer Society, for conducting animal testing to find cures for birth defects and life-threatening diseases. 8
