PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has strongly condemned the U.S. military's use of dolphins and sea lions in the Iraq war to help clear underwater mines.
Sgt. Andrew Garrett trains bottlenose dolphin 'K-Dog' armed with camera in Arabian Gulf
About 100 dolphins and sea lions are helping U.S. troops clear shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf to ensure safe passage for vessels, including those that will provide humanitarian relief, reports the London Evening Standard.

wait a minnit...Miss Piggy from the Dixie Chicks dumped PETA, and now PETA is protesting the use of dolphins. Doesnt that mean that Miss Piggy supports our troops (at least the finned ones?). God Bless America.

Talk about a predictable headline.
They couldn't give a beloved rats's ass when humans were blowing up buses but they drew the line on using donkeys.
To: bedolido
With all the media on the war, wouldn't you expect PETA to try to get that coverage? I am supprised that Clinton hasn't tried to steal the lens too!

========= Persian Gulf =========
Somewhere in the Persian Gulf, K-Dog, a patriotic American bottlenose dolphins,
with the Commander Task Unit 55, seeks Iraqi mines. More patriot than Martin Sheen, apparently.

Great pictures! I think it's cool!
Perhaps these anti-human activists could volunteer their services and... wait! Bad idea. Like someone else said here, the dolphins are much smarter.

Yeah, and my first and only letter to them after watching the footage of the nerve agent being injected into sweet little Beagle Puppies, went unanswered!

I'm so mad, I neglected to mention that the footage I was referring to ALSO contained their slow, twitching, painful death.

PETA, just shut up and die! NOW! Grrrrr!!!!
To: bedolido
Another thought. We know that dolphins are far more intelligent and wise than us humans, therefore, their assistance in this war must mean they support it and that Bush is doing the wise thing, right ?

Can't blame us for civilizing dolphins. PETA people don't know that dolphins live in a world completely without social restrictions: they commit rape and murder at will, whether against their own species of dolphins or others. Selling dolphins to the public as compassionate animals that are smarter than we was a real joke.
In utilizing these dolphins we are giving them a good existence, which includes supporting them for life, in exchange for which they perform a service. Except for the performing a service part, liberals like the PETA puffers ought to love the concept!

I guess PETA would prefer to let the ships carrying relief packages hit mines (that the dolfins are being used to detect) and sink, thereby causing hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Iraquis civilians to starve to death? Is that what they consider an alternative?
Hell, them boys 'ought to join GAFL... Get a F***ing Life.
Where's 'ma gun.

Translation: Dolphins are more patriotic than PETA!
I KNEW IT! As soon as I read about the dolphins yesterday, I knew peta would object. Now, use a donkey to carry explosives though, you will hear hardly a peep out of the damn group.
