You asked me yesterday on what war threads may or may not be appropriate in the Canteen.
As we know there can be plenty of "bad news" threads on the front page of Free Republic.
Links to threads that honor our troops are of course always welcome here.
Let's leave the links to the "bad news" threads elsewhere.
We need to keep the Canteen as a morale booster.

MORNING EVERYONE!!!

I have to tell you all, our service men and women are the BEST...I had sent that letter I wrote to a few of my friends that are in the service....and I received the following response by one of the officers I know in the Airforce:

Cherry-Berry, Those beloved protesters and their right to voice their opinions, and gain media attention while doing so, are part of the reason I serve - that's a constitutional right I hold very dear. So, regardless of what they're for or against, I'm proud they raise their voices in that true right of democracy. I value them all and find equal, though different, support and encouragement from both pro- and anti-war demonstrators. So, while I have no desire to sway your opinions one way or another on the war, I do encourage you to take a more positive take on those who speak out against your views - they're Americans and are exercising the rights that I so fervently defend; I'd hate to see those rights go without use.

Wow....I don't know how they do it. And this is an officer that works in research, he sees the terrible things that chemical weapons can do, etc. I'm speechless! My only response to him was that I disagree with their methods. What else could I say....GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!
