Colonel says higher number of illegals is taxing resources

BY BILL HESS

Herald/Review

FORT HUACHUCA -- The increasing number of illegal immigrants found on the post is interfering with the fort's regular law enforcement operations, Garrison Commander Col. Lawrence Portouw said Monday.

Frank Amarillas, a spokesman for the U.S. Border Patrol's Tucson Sector, said there has been an increase in the number of illegal immigrants apprehended and drugs confiscated in Cochise County when compared to a year ago.

This past weekend, 94 illegal immigrants were apprehended on the fort and turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol, Portouw said. The number of illegal immigrants apprehended on post for the period of nearly the first six months of this fiscal year is more than twice the number taken into custody for the entire 12 months of the previous fiscal year, according to post figures.

To help provide more security because of the increasing illegal immigrant problem, the colonel said the post's military police, which does patrol duty and is the special environmental protection force, is being augmented by members of the Arkansas Army National Guard. The guardsmen are members of 2nd Battery, 2nd Battalion of the 142nd Field Artillery and were sent to the post last year . . . .

What gives you the thought that the stories are bogus? Do you have some sort of proof they are?

Both the stories you spoke of are bogus. Do some research.

Why do you always enter border-related threads and disrupt? You have shown a consistant pattern of disruption in border-related threads.

Both the stories related by sandrat are, in fact, true.

The first story was about Chris Simcox who was "arrested" by a female "hispanic" ranger who specifically mentioned her "hispanic" heritage as her reasons for disagreeing with what she suspected Chris Simcox of doing. I know one of the men, Henry Harvey, that was with Chris Simcox at the time of this incident - I've heard the story directly from him. I've also spoken to Chris Simcox about it and he's related exactly the same thing.

As for Mexican troops escorting illegals up to and across the border, that is also true. One night, ABP was on the border with their equipment and recorded it happening. When U.S. Border Patrol vehicles would come down the road and might have spotted the illegals, you could see the Mexican troops motioning for the large group of illegals to drop down, out of sight.

In addition, here's the words of a friend of mine - a retired Border Patrol agent - named Dave Stoddard:

Mexican troops have been operating on the U.S.-Mexico Border for several decades now. Within the last 10 years, the Mexican military presence on the U.S. border has increased exponentially over the 1980's.

During this time the Mexican Army has frequently entered the United States and fired upon U.S. Officers. Mexican helicopters, protected by ground forces in HumVees, have entered the U.S. and delivered narcotics to points unknown.

Additionally, Mexican troops have been observed guiding Mexican citizens (and probably citizens from other countries) to locations used by illegal aliens to cross into the United States. This has been filmed by U.S. border residents.

I live roughly 5 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. There is a Mexican Army garrison due South of my home.

These troops lay up during the day and come out at dusk to;

A. Protect potential illegal aliens from border bandits, and;
B. Guide those potential illegal aliens to "safe" crossing points where they may enter the United States illegally, and;
C. Facilitate the crossing of narcotics into the United States by assuring that potential illegal aliens and patrolling U.S. officers don't interfere with those movements of narcotics, and;
D. Move narcotics themselves across the border at the direction of corrupt Mexican officers and politicians, and;
E. Assure that violence does not erupt along the border between competing drug cartels thereby creating "bad press" for Mexico during its push for "regularization" of its illegal aliens in the United States.

We live here. You don't. We've seen this stuff with our own eyes. You haven't. You disrupt when you post baseless nonsense in an effort to distract us from talking about or doing anything about the literal invasion on our southern border. This is a homeland security issue - not racism, not bigotry, not a hobby. I urge you to get your facts straight or STFU! Keep disrupting and we'll start punching the abuse button.

She asked for Federal Funds to help pay for medical and court/jail costs resulting from influx of immigrants at the recent National Governors Association meeting in Washington.

She is vocal about the job of patrolling and securing the border being a FEDERAL matter and not the job of citizen patrols. Reading between the lines, I always hear her saying it's either NOT her job or NOT something she is interested in. She has many meetings with Mexican officials/ngo's, Arizona-Sonoran Commission, Border Governors Conference, where agreements and promises have been made over the years, by a long list of fomer US Border Governors, to facilitate a kinder, gentler, OPEN border environment and to pass NO anti-immigration legislation.

And because of investigative reports that have brought to light the number of murder suspects that have fled the state to Mexico (who were located in border towns by news reporters) who she did not work to have extradited back for prosecution while she was Attorney General, she now states that the return of such criminals is one of her priorities.

I am very interested in what your answer to Spiff's question? Having participated in many threads last year where people who had concerns about our porous borders, illegal aliens, and OTM's (other than Mexicans) who enter this country in these times of High Alert posted their views, I had thought we finally convinced you that the security of the Nation is only as good as the security of its borders.

You don't drop by as often, but when you do, you certainly do not contribute.

So you are NOT concerned about the borders and do not think anything should be done and our complaints are either fabricated or fictional. Why not avoid these discussions? Your attacks are an insult to the people whose lives are affected daily by a very dangerous situation and to those who are risking their lives to help.

It's a SENSOR training area - it is sooo covered with the latest in sensor equipment that not even a gnat should be able to land there without setting off hundreds of alars.

Any aliens getting in AND getting back out - MUST be done with govt approval.

Great -- and frightening -- post. Thanks for summarizing these points so succinctly. It's pathetic that the corrupt media continues to cover up this mess. It's pathetic that all those flag-waving GWB supporters who buy Bush's "homeland security" propaganda have absolutely no idea how dangerous and outrageous this invasion has become. If it wasn't for FR, I would not know myself since I live in NJ. Believe me, though, my environs are being affected more and more each day. And it isn't pretty.

When I was walking on the sidewalk the other night in the pouring rain, I nearly got run over by an illegal Mexican barreling his bike down the sidewalk at breakneck speed. There was an old man a few feet in front of me who was struggling just to keep from slipping and falling down in the rain, and he would have been severely hurt if he had been hit by the illegal. The illegal missed hitting him by inches. Of course, the illegal didn't even bother to slow down or show any consideration for us pedestrians on the sidewalk. You're not even safe walking on the sidewalk anymore.

I was able to jump out of the way myself to avoid being run down. What angered me even more was that it was late, there was no road traffic, and the illegal should have been on the road. But as we all know, lawbreakers don't follow the laws, they are only for us duped taxpaying citizens.

Steplock, you need to take off the tin-foil hat. The access point for the illegals is not covered by sensors. The movement routes, especially Slaughterhouse Wash, are invisible to the sensors (US Customs Aerostat).

Your post sounds like you're thinking of REMBASS or PPS-5/15s. Certainly, nothing else we have here is going to detect people moving in groups from the south of the post.

And the fact that illegals are being apprehended negates your assertion that the government (of which I am a part) is allowing certain people to cross freely.

This is a certified bona-fide full-scale invasion, and your nonsense isn't helping any.

Nabbed by citizens, picked up much later by the Border Patrol....

So much for 'Homeland Security'.

Not true at all. Earlier I should have said I "think" those two stories are bogus. I can't prove #1 is false, but the only source is the man cited for the violation. #2 is just plain silly and was de-bunked by Marine Inspector, among others.

So typical of you.

Instead of name calling, you might notice that you haven't responded to the first line of my post yet:

I am very interested in what your answer to Spiff's question?

Are you giving me a hard time to detract from the fact that you have not responsed to post #62? You are the one who is lacking in the rules of debate, as well documented in the archives of Freerepublic.

You can backpedal all you want - or try to "think" your way out of it. But I've spoken to Chris Simcox and Henry Harvey who were both present when Chris Simcox was detained by the Hispanic park ranger. The story you've heard related here is TRUE. What more do you need? Are you going to fly your ass out here to Cochise County and talk to them yourself before you accept the story as fact? Are you normally this dense!?

As for the second story, WHEN you fly your ass out here to Cochise County, I'll introduce you to retired Border Patrol agent David Stoddard and he can tell you or even SHOW you himself what he's talking about.

Again, you don't know what you're talking about - you're basically calling people liars because you don't "think" that the stories are true - despite evidence to the contrary. You are continuing your pattern of disruption and willful ignorance and adding nothing but idiotic noise to border security-related threads.

So, until you see for yourself the freakin' court documents (there's been no "trial" just yet, bucko) you are going to call me, Chris, Henry, and many others here liars!!!? How about photos? I've seen photos. I can call Henry Harvey and get more and post them. Would you believe it then!? Probably not.

I can't believe what a hard-headed SOB you are being here. It happened whether you want to believe it or not. Your willful ignorance and intent to disrupt is pegging the obnoxious meter right now.
