Attitude Problem?
Family: Soldier Accused in Grenade Attack Troubled Over Race & Religion Issues

March 25 — U.S. Army Sgt. Asan Akbar, the soldier being detained in connection with a grenade attack on his fellow soldiers, told his family members that he encountered racism as an African-American and a Muslim in the armed services.

His stepfather, William Bilal, who was once married to Akbar's mother, Quran Bilal, said that his stepson was resentful toward the military and had complained several years ago that it was difficult for a black man "to make rank" in the military.

"Asan was pushed to this. We've got that clear," William Bilal told WBRZ, ABCNEWS' affiliate in Baton Rouge, La. "Everybody's got a breaking point, to put it that way. Everybody's got a breaking point. If he did this, he was driven."

Of course, of course! It's not his fault he lobbed grenades into the tents of his fellow soldiers and shot them in the back!

These people must be democrats... seeing as they can't take any personal responsibility.

This is typical of the anti-American agenda at ABCIA.

As to the traitor, I hope he's "driven" into the wooden post he's tied to when the firing squad's bullets turn his chest into Jell-O.

He was driven to it? Oh, that's different. Let's just go ahead and forget about it. Hell, make him a General!

Have you noticed how he went from recent convert to basically a life-long muslim. Seems the media made this little "correction" as the story died down.

They sure like to portray as many of these guys as possible as "recent converts" so they can pretend it's the confusion of the individual that is the sole culprit.

difficult for a black man "to make rank" in the military

Colin Powell didn't need to murder his comrades.

Competence trumps whining.

I've noticed that...
I've also noticed that the father says "if he did it" - still keeping the option of innocence open. In this guy's mind, he's either innocent or driven. Which is it?

"If he did this, he was driven."

Yeah, and the Koran was the vehicle that drove him to do it.

Like, say, Colin Powell. Poor guy couldn't make rank.

And Colin Powell isn't the Secretary of State.

Maybe difficult (though I don't think so) but obviously not impossible. They can try to play the race card but it won't float here. He is a murderer.

"Akbar's mother, Quran Bilal"

Interesting, but isn't Quran another varient of Koran? Also, on another thread Jay Nordlinger points out that this vermin's original middle name was Fidel. Not verfied yet, but it's starting to sound a little '5th columnish' to me.

All of the counter-cultural crap of the 60's and 70's is starting to come home to roost.
