Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Did you hear Neil Cavuto say re. the Def. Dept. briefing today that he thought the critical presstitutes were right for criticizing the military plans? When did Neil become a military expert? What happened to our 'glass half full' guy who stood up to the Wall Street cowards after 9-11?

It seems to me that the decision on embedding journalists was driven by two forces. One, to have someone record the reality given the nature of Saddam's regime and compulsion to lie. The second, pure psyops. Can you imagine watching on tv as your country is invaded, and then, only seeing what we want you to see?

There were no civilians in the hospital at the time of seizure.I wonder where the patients went? My guess is that if Iraq held the hospital, they'd drag a couple of the patients back to the hospital and tell them to tell the cameras that they were injured by those Zionist Anglo-Americans.

It seems to me that the decision on embedding journalists was driven by two forces. Don't forget the third: the embedded guys will report stuff that cuts the legs out from under the presstitutes at the daily briefings. It's hard for major media to spin the news when their own guys are sending stuff back in real-time.

Link and excerpt from FOX News:
Anti-Saddam Revolt Reported in Basra
Iraqi Fedayeen are reportedly firing at the Shiite protesters, who have the support of British troops in the area. Coalition forces, in turn, are reportedly firing missiles at the pro-Saddam forces.
Meanwhile, senior Defense officials told Fox News that intelligence reports indicate that Iraqi forces either special Republican Guard forces or Fedayeen Saddam terrorists in and around Basra are dressing up as U.S. soldiers, then accepting the surrender of other Iraqi forces and executing them.

Damn. The Brits are experiencing a higher loss of life than the US and they have fewer troops.

This snow is perfect. The sand storm lets them rest, the snow will cool it off so they don't melt in those chem suits.
