Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Absolutely true. Bears repeating...
The "reporters" sit in their arrogant ivory towers telling us how this war SHOULD be fought. I have yet to hear of one of these perfume princes/princesses volunteer to do a damn thing for anyone else. I'll stick with these guys & gals any time rather than the know-it-alls who don't have a clue!

Darn! I missed post 3000. We have to post belly girl every 1000 posts.

You're gonna need one if you go past about 100 rds with that 03A3. Keep it pulled in tight to your shoulder and you will be fine. If worse comes to worse, just wear a sissy-pad. They have some slim ones that will fit under your shirt. Large maxi-pads (unused) stuck to the inside of your shirt can work well also.

17,000 dead if casualty rate goes in line with past wars of 1:15

Of course Nic, and I have a liberal arts degree too. My point is that these people were not discerning, they just went along with the liberal crowd and the liberal PC professors.

VDH continually makes that point that these media, academic, Hollywood, and political elites are far removed from the ordinary person, the backbone of this country. We may be flyover country, but the American ethos derives from ordinariness wherein lies our extraordinariness.
That is extraordinarily eloquent! Thanks for posting it!

I have yet to hear of one of these perfume princes/princesses volunteer to do a damn thing for anyone else.Do you remember an interview way back with Mike Wallace about being a war correspondent? He was asked if he knew that the unit he was with was meeting with a grave danger would he warn the unit. He answered, "No."

My point is that these people were not discerning, they just went along with the liberal crowd and the liberal PC professors. You know what I've noticed....the more conservative (I don't mean extreme) one is, the more discerning the individual....at least, that's what I've noticed. Perhaps conservatives base things more on logic and reflection rather than follow the leader in emotional displays...

Damn CNN
we will never get anywhere near 17,000
not even if they use bio/chem
And maybe the peace freaks wont accept more the 150 dead, but most rational people would as long as we give up trying to be nice

Tim Russert pressed Rumsfeld yesterday about why we have not taken out Iraqi TV and radio. Rumsfeld went on to discuss how Iraqis have placed certain assets near civilian areas and then went on to advise civilians to stay away from potential military targets.

(Haven't been around much today, so this may have already been posted)
From Best of the Web Today, Wall St. Journal website:
In November the Seattle Times reported on an incident, which occurred in the 84h Engineering Company during the Gulf War in 1991:
In the first months of that year, the unit was in the Middle East preparing for the ground-attack phase of the Gulf War. The story, according to [retired sergeant Kip] Berentson and at least two other former members of the 84th, was that [John Allen] Muhammad threw a thermite grenade into a tent housing 16 of his fellow soldiers. . . .
Berentson was in the tent. He says the grenade went off near him and near a staff sergeant with whom Muhammad had fought earlier that day. The Army's Criminal Investigation Division, Berentson says, concluded Muhammad (then named Williams) was the lead suspect.
Muhammad was led away in handcuffs and eventually transferred to another company pending charges. He had been court-martialed twice before for lesser incidents while serving in the Louisiana National Guard. But an indictment over the grenade incident never materialized, and Muhammad's Army file has no record of it.
John Allen Muhammad--the Washington area sniper. Lest we perpetuate stereotypes, we won't mention his religion.
