NEW YORK (AP) -- A day after massive anti-war rallies attracted thousands across the nation - including more than 100,000 people in a march down Broadway - hundreds of people gathered in Times Square and other cities Sunday to show support for the war in Iraq.

"Near Richmond, Va., on Sunday, police said more than 5,000 people showed up to show their support for the war..."
Well hey it's about f***ing time!!! Anyone know anything else about this? I really want to know the name of the town/city that is "near Richmond". Sounds like a good place to live...

Exactly. The AP's propaganda strikes again.

There was a Pro Troop Rally in my town yesterday. Unfortunately I did not hear about it until it was mentioned on TV this morning, or I would have gone.

"On a day when pro-war supporters made the most noise, anti-war demonstrators still made themselves heard. In Providence, R.I., about 200 people gathered on the Statehouse lawn, holding snapshots of Iraqi families to symbolize the suffering of those impacted by the war. "This is the face of collateral damage," Karina Wood of Rhode Island Peace Action said of the pictures.
Karina Wood can kiss my ass! I would love her to yap with Aziz Al-Taee who is an Iraqi national exiled because of Saddam's terror!
He would shut her pie-hole right up!

I live about 3 miles from where the rally was held. It was in a business park called Innsbrook in the town of Glen Allen, VA. It's just outside the Richmond city limits.
It was a great event. Hours before the event I saw trucks, motorcycles and other vehicles appropriately decorated in patriotic red, white, and blue.

Glen Allen, VA is a great place to live.
Eric Cantor (R, 7th district) lives about 1 mile from me, in Glen Allen also.

I do not care if you agree with why we are in Iraq, but you should show your support for the people who are putting their lives on hold and in risk so that you can eat your cheeseburger and watch that rerun of "Friends". I am a veteran of the Navy and love my country. Thank you to all who support our troops, you are the epitamy of patriots. God bless you and this country!!

"Thank God we have a president who is a real global leader, protecting our liberty and security, relentless in his pursuit of justice and not bending to the appeasers," said Republican activist Michael Benjamin. Well said, Mr. Benjamin. The only thing the anti-American protests can possibly accomplish is to demoralize our troops. But we will not let that happen, since the vast majority of Americans support our troops and our President. We will do everything we can to let our troops know they have our total support. American troops are the best!

hundreds of people gathered in Times Square In Washington, about 300 activists turned out for a pro-military rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial
Well, the NY Post was low on the numbers - The NYPD said at the height of the rally, there were around 2,000 supporters in Times Square and one of the organizers of the rally in DC said there were around 1,000. The NY Post was off by an order of magnitude in both cases. It makes me wonder how many really were "near Richmond, VA."

Actually, everyone is pro-war. It's just that we're in favor of the American war, and the traitors are in favor of the Iraqi war.

How convenient the Associated Press forgot to mention that 17,000 proud Americans rallied to support our troops on the steps of the Capitol building in St. Paul yesterday. Senator Coleman, Gov. Pawlenty and a bunch of other great politicians were there. So how biased is that they didn't even think to mention it? They'd love to make it sound like hardly anyone is showing up at these rallies, but the 16,999 other people there with me yesterday were loud, proud and (most notably) well-behaved.

Someone got this picture of me in Hollywood off the AP Wire, but I can't find out where! I want to send it with the caption (whatever they wrote) to my son on the Abraham Lincoln! Anyone able to point me to the link on AP where I can find it?

You may know this already but the Yahoo! photos section is from AP and has search options. the captions with each photo are extensive so you may score a bulls-eye.

I was at the D.C. rally, and though I'm hardly an official crowd estimator, I did spend a lot of time looking at the crowd. I figured it to be about 500 at any one time. Certainly the 200 figure is quite low.

Near Richmond, Va., on Sunday, police said more than 5,000 people showed up to show their support for the war - I drove through Richmond on Saturday, and I heard this rally advertised several times on the radio. Look forward to hearing reports from you two.

I was there in Richmond and it was NOT a "Pro-War" Rally!! It was a PRO-Troops/PRO-America/PRO-Bush Rally!! Anybody who says differently will lie to you about other things as well!!

This is kind of typical - the lefties have termed it 'pro-war' when it is, in effect, pro-American. Just like they labeled the baby-killing industry 'pro-choice' instead of pro-death. I just can't understand why they do not want a 'I Support Death' license plate. Have you ever thought that this war will actually save more lives in the long run?
