I remember Steve Martin going to the Persian Gulf during the Desert Shield phase and entertaining the troops on a USO tour. No matter how liberal he may be, I have held him in high regard since then.

I know some of his Texas kinfolk. They're regular, conservative, hard-working Americans. FYI, Marcia Gay Hardin's parents live near Llano, Texas, and frequent Laird's Country Barbecue there (way better than overrated Cooper's BBQ). Anyway, the folks at Laird's say Marcia shows up some times and scarfs down bbq like there is no tomorrow. She's VERY nice too, and not hoity toity, they say.
